Donaubad
Donaubad in Neu-Ulm is a year-round leisure complex whose indoor Erlebnisbad combines four slides, a wave pool and two thermal pools fed by the operator's own thermal well with a six-cabin sauna landscape and a separate summer open-air bath.
About
Donaubad sits at Wiblinger Straße 55 in Neu-Ulm and is run as a single site with several divisions: the indoor Erlebnisbad, a sauna landscape, a summer Freibad, an ice rink, an inline-sport hall, a fitness studio and a motorhome park. The operator dates the site to the open-air bath: looking back at the 60-year anniversary in 2019 it writes of "die Geschichte des Freibads, das seit 1959 stetig gewachsen ist". The indoor leisure bath is younger — the history page marks 25 years since the opening of the Erlebnisbad, which it says originally carried the name Atlantis.
The Erlebnisbad is described by its own enumeration rather than a pool total: four slides, the Abenteuer-Wellenbecken, two thermal pools, a 25 m swimmer's pool, an outdoor leisure pool, a steam bath, a cascade pool and a toddler area. The water character is stated plainly by the operator: the two Thermalbecken carry "Thermalwasser vom eigenen Thermalbrunnen", that is thermal water from the site's own thermal well; the site publishes neither a source temperature nor a depth for that well, and the remaining pools are not described as thermal. The wave pool is advertised as running ten minutes of waves per hour. The slide tower, called Rutschenwelt, opened at the end of November 2023 and holds four named slides — SWUush! (a three-lane racing tube), CRAZY FAKE (with four selectable programmes), FASTBREAK (a near-vertical drop) and RAINBOW RIVER (a family slide). No slide lengths are published.
The sauna is certified by the Deutscher Sauna-Bund with its highest mark, "5-Sterne Premium Sauna". Its prose lists six saunas, one steam bath, a caldarium, an outdoor relaxation pool, a sauna garden and sauna catering; note that a fact tile on the same sauna page instead counts two steam baths, so the operator's own page is inconsistent on that number. No cabin temperatures are given.
Erlebnisbad hours run May to September Mon–Thu 10:00–21:00, Fri 10:00–22:00, Sat 09:00–22:00 and Sundays, public and school holidays 09:00–21:00; from October to April each closing shifts an hour later. The sauna opens daily at 10:00 and closes 22:15, or 23:15 on Fridays and Saturdays between October and April. Erlebnisbad admission for an adult is 12,00 € for two hours rising to 18,00 € for a day ticket, with a 2 € surcharge at weekends and on public holidays; the reduced adult tariff runs 10,00 € to 16,00 €. Sauna admission is 21,00 € for two hours with a daily maximum of 27,00 €, or 24,00 € and 30,00 € including the Erlebnisbad. In summer an Erlebnisbad ticket also admits the holder to the open-air bath free of charge.
