About
MineralTherme Bad Boll lies at the foot of the Swabian Alb in the Baden-Württemberg spa village of Bad Boll. It shares a campus, an operator and an address with the town's orthopaedic rehabilitation clinic, but it is not a clinical department: anyone can walk in and buy a three-hour ticket or a day card, and the free car park towards Eckwälden has its own entrance leading directly into the bath and the neighbouring VitalZentrum without crossing the clinic. Prices run from about 15 euro for three hours to 17 euro for a day, with reduced rates for pupils, students, seniors on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and an evening tariff from 18:30.
The bathing part is deliberately small. There is one indoor pool and one outdoor pool, both held at 34 °C and both 135 cm deep, equipped with massage jets and bubbling seat benches; the outdoor basin looks out at the escarpment of the Alb, and a lawn and a bistro sit alongside. Because therapy groups share the indoor pool during the day, parts of it can be closed to bathers at short notice, and the current schedule is posted at the cash desk rather than online. Swimming ends thirty minutes before closing time.
The water is drawn from a well sunk in 1972 roughly 300 metres from the clinic to a depth of 467 metres; it arrives at the wellhead at 49 °C and is described by the house analysis as a fluoride-bearing sodium-calcium-chloride-sulphate thermal water. Technical means then hold both pools at a steady 34 °C. The clinic also works a local black-Jurassic shale into its own Naturfango mud, used in therapy rather than in the bath.
A separate SaunaLounge ticket opens a Finnish sauna at 90 °C, a warm-air sauna at 60 °C, an infrared cabin around 50 °C and a steam room around 45 °C, daily from 10:00 to 21:00. Payment inside is cashless via a transponder; towels and bathrobes are hired at reception against a deposit. Access is broadly step-free, though the operator notes that the pool lift serves only the outdoor basin and that the sauna is reached by stairs.
