გულოს აბანო

Gulo's Thermal Spa (გულოს აბანო) is a sulphur bath house on Ioseb Grishashvili Street in the Abanotubani bathing quarter of old Tbilisi. It is named after its host, Gulo, and it keeps the arrangement of a traditional Tbilisi bath while having been refurbished throughout: rooms are taken privately by the hour, each with its own pool of naturally warm sulphur water.

Private rooms

• Eight private rooms of different sizes, from a room for two up to a suite for a large group.
• Rooms for more than seven guests have wood-lined saunas.
• The rooms are finished with wall mosaics of pheasants and peacocks under the domed roofs typical of the quarter, with faux-marble pools; guidebooks call the largest suite's pool the biggest of any bath in the city.

What is provided

Towels and hair dryers are provided and tea is free; food can be ordered in. Unlike most of the refurbished baths in the quarter, Gulo's takes walk-in visitors as well as bookings.

Visiting

Open every day from 07:00 until 03:00 — the longest hours of any bath house in Abanotubani. The bath is indoors, step-free access is limited, and cash and cards are both accepted.
