ბოჰემა

Thermal bathTbilisi, Georgia

Private sulphur bath rooms at Grishashvili Street 11 in Abanotubani — five rooms and a VIP suite, steam chambers, open late.

About

Bohema (ბოჰემა) is a sulphur bath house at Ioseb Grishashvili Street 11, at the far end of Abano II Deadend, in the Abanotubani quarter of old Tbilisi. It works as a private-rooms bath — nothing communal — and presents itself as a place for couples. Guidebooks call it one of the oldest bath buildings in the quarter and attach the historic name Mirzoyev bath to it; the map attaches that name to Queen's Bath in the same lane instead, so which house was Mirzoyev's is not settled.

Rooms

  • Five private rooms and a larger VIP room, hired by the hour.
  • Steam chambers and separate relaxation areas.
  • Massage is offered alongside the traditional Georgian scrub.

The water

The sulphur water reaches the pools from the springs under the quarter without being heated: the same naturally warm, sulphur-alkaline water the neighbouring baths use. No analysis or temperature is published for this bath in particular.

Visiting

Indoors, and open late — published hours run from 08:00 to 23:00, though the bath is also recorded as opening at 10:00, so it is worth telephoning ahead. Booking is by telephone or through the bath's own social pages rather than a booking site.

Facilities

  • Steam room
  • Indoor

Only facilities that are recorded are listed. An absent entry means nobody has recorded it, not that it is missing.
