ჭრელი აბანო (ორბელიანის აბანო)

Chreli Abano ("Motley Bath"), also known as the Orbeliani Baths, is the most recognizable sulphur bathhouse in Tbilisi. Its mosaic-clad, Eastern-style facade in the historic Abanotubani bath quarter is one of the city's most photographed landmarks. Originally built in the 18th century and reopened after renovation in 2017, it is fed by Tbilisi's natural sulphurous hot springs.

Sulphur thermal water

The baths draw on the naturally heated, sulphur-rich spring water that gave Abanotubani ("bath district") its name. Water in the district's springs runs roughly 38-40°C, and the mineralised sulphur water has long been valued for soothing joints, skin and circulation.

• Around eleven private rooms of varying size and style, each with its own sulphur pool, booked by the hour.
• A premium "Royal Apartment" suite adds a Turkish sauna, a snow room and a private bar.
• Advance online booking is recommended, especially in high season.

Scrub & massage

Attendants offer the traditional Georgian kisi scrub-and-soap treatment along with professional massage, typically added on to a private-room session.
