Therme Linsberg Asia

Therme Linsberg Asia stands at Thermenplatz 1 in Bad Erlach, in the southern corner of Lower Austria not far from Wiener Neustadt. The operator dates its beginning precisely: on 22 July 2004 a drill struck water at 1,200 metres, and the province of Lower Austria took almost three years more to recognise the find as the Linsberg healing spring. Construction of the bath started in 2007, the resort hotel followed shortly after, and the opening was celebrated on 8 August 2008 - the reason the market town has carried the prefix "Bad" ever since. Since 2016 the house has run as an adults-only therme, admitting guests from 16 upwards, and it employs around 160 staff from 15 nations.

The bathing area is split between indoor and outdoor water. Outside, in a garden laid out on Asian lines, are a thermal open-air pool, a whirlpool and a sport pool kept deliberately cool at 27 C for swimming lengths. Indoors the space is dominated by a wide thermal pool fed with the healing water, beside it a vein pool at 25 C aimed at legs and calf muscles, and a gallery pool at 35 C with stone loungers set in the water. The operator gives 35 C as the temperature of the thermal water itself and stresses that it is constantly renewed.

The heat rooms are numerous and named rather than counted. Finnish saunas in the textile-free outdoor zone run at 80 to 95 C with several scheduled infusions a day, booked in advance through a chip watch at a sauna terminal. The Zen sauna holds up to 55 people and has a Buddha ice fountain filled with crushed ice; the smaller Lotus sauna sits behind its own indoor pool and whirlpool. Gentler options include a bamboo sauna at 50 to 60 C, a Laconium soft sauna at 50 C that may be entered in swimwear, and an infrared deep-heat bath. Three steam baths complete the circuit: a brine steam bath outdoors, a soft steam bath at 45 C in the thermal area and a gong steam bath at 45 C with full humidity.

Bathing runs from 09.00 to 22.00 from Sunday to Thursday and to 23.00 on Fridays and Saturdays, with the sauna world opening an hour later than the pools; several times a year a Lange Nacht der Therme extends bathing to 01.00. All adult admissions include sauna use. A separate spa wing offers massages and cosmetic treatments, and there are two restaurants, a cafe, a pool bar and a sauna bar inside the complex.
