Freizeitzentrum Perchtoldsdorf

The Freizeitzentrum Perchtoldsdorf at Siegfried-Ludwig-Platz 4 in 2380 Perchtoldsdorf, on the southern edge of Vienna, is a municipal operation financed by the market town of Perchtoldsdorf, which describes itself as a communal business with market-determined activity and states that the town contributes more than one million euros a year to keep the range of facilities and the admission price structure in place. The operator traces the town's bathing tradition back to 1332 and to a nineteenth-century boom in private bathing establishments, and dates the present recreation centre to its opening in 1978/79. A refurbishment in the early 2000s added the children's area and what the operator then called the longest water slide in Lower Austria; a triple sports hall followed in 2009/2010, together with a climbing installation financed and run by the Austrian Alpine Club.

The bathing landscape covers both an indoor bath and an open-air bath. The operator names a Freibad, a Hallenbad, a children's area, a tube slide and a whirlpool, and says the bathing landscape has something for every age and every season. No pool dimensions, water surface figures or water temperatures are published anywhere on the site, and the number of basins is not totalled.

The sauna world is the wellness part of the centre and includes brine. Two operator pages enumerate its cabins differently and are not reconciled. The Saunawelt page lists two Finnish saunas, an amethyst steam bath, an aroma steam bath, a brine grotto, two bio-saunaria, a bubble pool, bucket and adventure showers, a new fresh-air area and a sauna bar. The centre's own history page instead lists a Finnish sauna, a bio-sauna, a light-therapy sauna, an aroma steam bath, an amethyst steam bath, a brine grotto and a whirlpool — one Finnish sauna rather than two, one bio-sauna rather than two bio-saunaria, and a light-therapy sauna that the Saunawelt page does not name. No cabin temperatures are given on either page, and no total cabin count is published, so none is stated here.

Hours differ by section. The indoor bath is closed to the general public on Mondays and Tuesdays, which are reserved for senior aquatic gymnastics at 13:15 and 14:15, school swimming, swimming schools and clubs; it opens Wednesday to Friday 09:00–21:00 and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 09:00–20:00. The sauna opens Wednesday to Sunday 09:00–22:00. Both the indoor bath and the sauna close for maintenance during July and August. The open-air bath runs from 1 May to early September, weather permitting, Monday to Friday 09:00–20:00 and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 08:00–20:00. The ice arena runs from late October to early March with a midday break for ice regeneration. The whole centre is closed on 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January. A news item on the homepage announcing the end of the 2026 open-air season gives the last day as Sunday 06.09.2025 and the start of the next season as early May 2027; the dates in that notice are internally inconsistent and the operator publishes no correction.

Admission to the indoor and open-air bath is charged by time: for adults a one-hour short ticket at €3.50, a three-hour ticket at €9.00 and a day ticket at €18.00, with a summer-season all-day pass at €290.00 and an annual all-day pass at €350.00; young people, apprentices, students, national and civilian service members pay €2.80, €5.20 and €10.00 respectively. Children under six accompanied by a paying adult are free, and a weekday morning special tariff gives three hours for €5.50 Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 12:00, not on public holidays. The sauna world is priced separately. The water is ordinary heated pool water; the operator names no spring, borehole or thermal source, and the only brine in the house is the Solegrotte in the sauna world.
