About

Büki Gyógy és Élményfürdő (Bük Medicinal and Adventure Bath) is a thermal and spa complex in Bük, in western Hungary, at Termál tér. It combines a certified medicinal bathing function with adventure and wellness facilities, offering indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna world, and dedicated medical and wellness treatment areas that draw on the local thermal water.

The water

The site states that its thermal water is delivered to the surface by four wells and carries a mineral content of more than 15,000 milligrams per litre. It is described as an alkaline, bicarbonate-based water enriched with calcium, magnesium and fluoride; the published chemical analysis lists sodium at 4,170 mg/l and hydrogen carbonate at 7,330 mg/l among its main components. The venue describes the water as anti-inflammatory, improving circulation, and strengthening the muscles and bones. It is a certified medicinal water, and the bath indicates it for musculoskeletal conditions, arthritis, osteoporosis, rehabilitation and circulatory complaints. In line with Hungarian Decree No. 37/1996, children under 14 are not permitted to use the thermal water pools.

Pools & saunas

The bathing area is organised into indoor thermal pools, semi-outdoor pools (including a pool the site names St Clement's Pool), and outdoor pools that operate seasonally from spring to autumn, along with water slides. The sauna world offers ten different cabins, complemented by heated built-in loungers, a sauna garden, indoor and outdoor cold plunge pools, a Kneipp pool, an outdoor adventure pool and an indoor Jacuzzi. Daily sauna infusions are held with seasonal aromatherapy themes.

Facilities

Alongside bathing, the complex provides medical treatments and wellness treatments that make use of the medicinal water, together with massage services and TB-supported cure programmes. A branded Bükfürdő cosmetics line derived from the medicinal water is also offered. An adjacent thermal campsite provides accommodation with direct access to the bath and is described as dog-friendly.

Visiting

The spa and sauna are open Monday to Sunday from 9:00 to 20:00. The medical wellness area operates Monday to Thursday from 9:15 to 17:00 and Friday to Sunday from 9:15 to 18:30. The site notes that opening hours may vary and advises confirming current times with the venue.
