Terme Zreče

Terme Zreče is a thermal spa in Zreče, Slovenia, set at the foot of the Pohorje uplands. The venue describes itself as an internationally accredited spa, and it pairs bathing and wellness facilities with medically oriented health services drawn from the area's natural healing factors.

The water and natural healing factors

The spa is built around acratothermal thermal water that it presents as healing and beneficial for the body. The site names calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate among the water's minerals. Alongside the water, Terme Zreče cites two further local healing factors: the central mountain climate of its setting and Pohorje peat.

Pools and saunas

Guests can bathe in both indoor and outdoor thermal pools filled with the acratothermal water. Separately, the spa runs a sauna village (Savna vas) whose saunas are distinguished by their use of Pohorje wood and stone; sauna masters lead guided sauna programmes. The spa publishes separate price lists for the thermal pools and for the sauna village.

Wellness and health

The Idila Wellness & Spa Centre is organised around four themed worlds and offers a range of massages, described as energy, oriental and other techniques for relaxation, beauty and pampering. A fitness centre is equipped with cardio and muscle-strengthening machines for training individual muscle groups or the whole body. On the medical side, Terme Zreče provides physiotherapy, including hydrotherapy and kinesiotherapy, as well as rehabilitation for severely locomotor-impaired patients (available on a self-pay basis or by medical referral), together with specialist dispensaries and clinics, doctors and a nursing department.

On-site accommodation includes Hotel Atrij Superior (four-star), Hotel Vital (four-star), Hotel Klasik (three-star), Hotel Medico (three-star) and the Villas Terme Zreče (four-star). The resort has restaurants offering Pohorje-inspired cuisine, activities for children, and hosts events such as weddings, business meetings and team-building. A wider programme of seasonal activities links to the nearby Rogla area, including cycling, hiking, Nordic walking and, in winter, skiing and snowboarding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
