Terme Vivat is a thermal spa in Moravske Toplice, Slovenia, built around sodium bicarbonate chloride thermal water and the region's rare black thermal water, with indoor and seasonal outdoor pools, a nine-sauna world, an 800 m2 wellness centre and an on-site hotel.

About

Terme Vivat is a thermal spa and hotel resort in Moravske Toplice, in northeastern Slovenia. Its pools are fed by the town's thermal water, and the resort combines indoor and outdoor bathing with a sauna complex, a wellness centre, a medical centre and on-site accommodation.

The water

The spa draws on sodium bicarbonate chloride thermal water, which holds the status of a natural healing agent. Alongside the ordinary ("white") thermal water, Terme Vivat offers Moravske Toplice's black thermal water, which the resort describes as existing nowhere else in the world. This black water is turbid in appearance, salty in taste and carries a faint oily smell; the resort uses it therapeutically for rheumatic diseases, orthopaedic problems and rehabilitation after injuries. The pools are held at a range of temperatures, from a 26°C Olympic pool up to a 39°C black thermal water pool, with the whirlpool at 37°C and the children's pool at 35°C.

Pools

Indoors, there is a recreational pool with swimming channels, whirlpools and a children's pool (the indoor recreational pool sits at about 34°C), plus a separate adults-only indoor complex offering both black and white thermal water, numerous water massages and resting areas. The outdoor complex, open seasonally from June until mid-September depending on the weather, includes an Olympic-size swimming pool, a wellness pool with bubbling water, underwater massages and in-water loungers, a pool with the black thermal water, and a children's pool.

Saunas

The World of Saunas comprises six indoor saunas — a Turkish Hammam, a Finnish sauna, a steam sauna, an infrared sauna, a Tilarium and a Harmonic sauna — and three outdoor features: a Finnish herbal sauna, the themed Cimprana kuča sauna for up to 30 people, and a Kneipp pool, together with relaxation areas.

Wellness & treatments

The wellness centre covers 800 m2 and offers a broad menu of massages (including full-body, classic back, reflexology and hot-stone massages), bathing rituals such as honey-milk, aromatherapy, coconut and herbal baths, and beauty and body-care treatments. A Pannonian salt room provides salt therapy through a halogenator that recreates a sea-like microclimate. The resort also runs a Thai massage salon, a medical centre and a fitness centre.

Staying & dining

The hotel offers several room and suite categories, from Comfort and Deluxe rooms to Prestige suites. Dining includes a premium buffet and a poolside restaurant, and the grounds feature a musical fountain.

Visiting

The hotel reception is staffed 24 hours; the pool and wellness reception operates 8:00–19:00, the Thai massage salon 09:00–18:00 and the saunas 12:00–19:00. Sauna admission is priced at €29.90 for an all-day ticket and €24.90 for four hours, with reduced rates for hotel guests and a 10% discount for pensioners and students.
