Terme Ptuj is a thermal water park and spa resort in Ptuj, Slovenia, part of Sava Hotels & Resorts, with 14 pools across indoor and outdoor sections, the Flavia sauna world, and the Imperium wellness centre. Its Ptuj thermal water is mild in composition and used for the locomotor system.

About

Terme Ptuj is a thermal water park and spa resort in Ptuj, in north-eastern Slovenia, operated as part of Sava Hotels & Resorts. It combines a large bathing complex with a sauna world, a wellness centre and on-site accommodation, and the site advertises one of the largest waterslide systems in Slovenia.

The water

The resort uses Ptuj thermal water, which the site describes as mild in its composition. Among its minerals is iron. The water is presented as beneficial for conditions of the locomotor (musculoskeletal) system.

Pools

The resort has 14 pools in total, split between indoor and outdoor sections of the thermal park. The indoor area holds seven pools, including an indoor waterslide and a children's pool. The outdoor section adds an Olympic-size swimming pool, several relaxation pools, a wave pool and a lazy river, alongside the waterslide system. The Grand Hotel Primus also has its own Roman-themed thermal pools.

Saunas

The Flavia sauna area offers five saunas: a Turkish sauna, two Finnish saunas, a Finnish sauna set inside a wine barrel, and an infrared sauna. An ice cave and a Kneipp pool are part of the sauna experience. Further sauna facilities, including a steam sauna and an additional Kneipp section, were planned as part of works running through December 2026.

Wellness & treatments

The Imperium wellness centre is themed around several cultures, with Roman, Oriental, Japanese, Egyptian and Thai rooms. Treatments listed include a grape massage and wine bath reflecting the local wine tradition, Thai massage and various beauty treatments. A separate Health Centre operates at Terme Ptuj.

Facilities

Accommodation ranges from the Grand Hotel Primus and bungalows to mobile homes, glamping and a campsite. Dining features Styrian cuisine, including themed Roman dinners. The grounds also include a volleyball court, an outdoor gym and a mini-golf course, and there is an 18-hole golf course adjacent to the resort.

Visiting

The Grand Hotel Primus pools are open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Note that the indoor section of the thermal park was closed for renovation between 17 August and 15 December 2026, while the outdoor section and the Flavia saunas remained in operation.
