A thermal bath at Podčetrtek in eastern Slovenia whose water leaves the ground at 44 °C and fills pools held between 30 and 37 °C. The operator draws it from wells reaching 520 metres, names magnesium, calcium and hydrogen carbonate as its constituents, and states the water is used for circulatory complaints. The site is not one bath but several worlds with separate tickets: Family Wellness Termalija, the adults-only Wellness Orhidelia, Wellness Vodian and the Aqualuna summer slide park. Health Center Olimia treats under contract with the Slovenian health insurance institute.
About
The water reaches the surface at 44 °C; the pools are held lower, from 30 to 37 °C. Calcium and magnesium are its dominant constituents. The operator states the water is used for circulatory conditions. Beside the bathing halls there are saunas, a steam room, a children's area, a wellness area, outdoor pools, Kneipp facilities, massage and a gym, with a hotel and a restaurant on the site. Wellness Orhidelia keeps its own hours: 9:00–22:00 from Monday to Thursday and on Sunday, until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
According to the site the water is pumped from wells reaching down to 520 metres and arrives between 24 °C and 44 °C, each pool's temperature being set by mixing water from different wells. The operator also names hydrogen carbonate as a constituent.
Separate worlds
Family Wellness Termalija is the family side, counted by the operator as six pools and eight saunas, its Family Fun part as four pools and seven slides. Wellness Orhidelia, open since 2009 and limited to visitors of 15 and over, has six pools and five saunas. Wellness Vodian, renovated in 2025, adds 2,000 m² with a 25-metre pool, a therapeutic pool and saunas. Aqualuna is the open-air summer park, with ten slides of 5 to 110 metres; the site records it as closed for the 2026 season.
Treatment
Health Center Olimia treats under contract with ZZZS, the Slovenian health insurance institute, which accredits it for inflammatory rheumatic disease, degenerative extra-articular rheumatism, states after injury or surgery to the locomotor system, and chronic skin disease. Balneotherapy, fango and galvanic baths need a work order. None of it is needed for an ordinary visit — tickets are sold online and at the door.
