Kúpalisko Oravice

The thermal pools at Oravice lie in the Tichá valley below the Western Tatras, in the district of Tvrdošín in northern Slovakia. The site is run by the town of Tvrdošín and consists of two open-air pools fed by the local geothermal water, diluted with water from a second well and from natural springs. The water The venue counts the Oravice water among the significant thermal waters of Slovakia and describes it as a sulphate-calcium-magnesium water with a high iron content. According to the venue it suits complaints of the musculoskeletal system and of the urinary tract and kidneys. Pools Both pools are uncovered, and the water in them currently runs between 34 and 38 °C — warm enough that the site stays in use through the winter, with the Tatra ridge in view from the water. Visiting The bath is open daily from 11:00 to 20:00. Differentiation The venue calls Oravice the only site in the Orava region with natural geothermal water. Dining A restaurant on site seats about forty guests, serving fast food such as burgers, casseroles and pizza alongside main dishes, desserts, coffee and tea, with a terrace; open daily whenever the pools operate. Treatments A masseur service in the complex offers peat baths, whirlpool, underwater and classic massage, hot-stone massage, electrotherapy and peat wraps, plus manicure, pedicure and depilation, available during pool hours.
