Chochołowskie Termy

Chochołowskie Termy stands in the Podhale village of Chochołów, a few kilometres from the Slovak border and within sight of the Tatra range. The operator counts 52 separate basins spread over almost 4,500 square metres of water surface, split between outdoor thermal pools on levels 0 and -1 and an indoor group with massage stations. The outdoor decks carry an artificial wave, water jets, a rapid river, a climbing net, a swim-up bar and courts for water volleyball and basketball; in summer a sand beach with loungers opens beside the lower pool. Three tube slides run to a combined 318 metres, the longest a 164-metre raft slide, the shortest a 74-metre trapdoor drop. Swimmers get two dedicated pools, a 16 by 8 metre basin monitored by an underwater drowning-detection system and a four-lane 25 by 10 metre sports pool.

The water is mineral and comes in two therapeutic forms that the operator keeps separate from the leisure pools. Wooden thermal barrels are filled with raw sulphur thermal water at 36 °C, and a further thermal pool holds iodine-brine water at 32 °C. The operator describes the sulphur water as slightly acidic at pH 6.7 and lists it against rheumatic and degenerative joint complaints, circulatory disorders and chronic skin conditions including psoriasis, alongside a plain list of contraindications; the brine bathing is presented as the gentler of the two, suitable for children prone to respiratory infection. A dedicated children's zone adds nearly 500 square metres of water with carousels, cannons, tipping buckets and a castle carrying three short slides, plus a separate infant pool kept between 30 and 32 °C and a room for nursing mothers.

The sauna floor occupies the second storey and opens onto a terrace facing the mountains. It gathers a juniper bio sauna, dry saunas, a steam bath at 50 °C and full humidity, an infrared cabin at 60 °C, a two-tier salt-and-herb sauna, a panoramic Finnish sauna where the aufguss ceremonies are held, and a separate highlander hut on the terrace that can be booked privately. Cooling comes from indoor and outdoor plunge basins, a chilling barrel and a snow grotto, with a salt grotto, a salt chamber with a water cascade and a relaxation room with waterbeds for the rest phases. Aufguss sessions run at fixed hours through the afternoon and evening. Beyond the water the site also runs a normobaric chamber, a spa, a gym, restaurants and its own accommodation.
