Holidaypark Kováčová

Holidaypark Kováčová is a thermal water park at Kováčová, in Slovakia's Banská Bystrica region, with three indoor pools and five outdoors. It sits on the same sulphurous water as the neighbouring rehabilitation institute.

The water

The water comes from a well 405 metres deep and reaches the surface at 48.5 °C; the venue classifies it as thermal, hypotonic, mineral, sulphate-bicarbonate and calcium-magnesium water, with sulphur the dominant constituent. According to the venue it is used for musculoskeletal, rheumatic, circulatory and skin complaints.

Pools

Indoors, a relaxation pool and a children's pool are held at 32 °C — the first 120 cm deep, the second 10 to 30 cm — with a whirlpool pool at 36 °C, also 120 cm; all three run all year. Outdoors, a sitting pool at 38 °C and a regeneration pool at 32 °C stay open year-round, both 1.2 m deep, and the 26 °C swimming pool runs from May to October. Two more open only in summer: a recreation pool at 28 °C, from 0.4 to 1.4 m deep, and children's pools at 32 °C, 0.1 to 0.3 m.

Other facilities

The park has slides, trampolines, a fitness area, massage services and swimming courses for children.

Open 12:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 at weekends.
