Aqualand Banská Bystrica

Aqualand Banská Bystrica is an open-air beach bath built around a natural lake on the Švermova road in Banská Bystrica, operated by AQUALAND Slovakia s.r.o. The operator describes it as a natural beach bath in the heart of Banská Bystrica and gives the site's dimensions as 22,000 m2 of water for bathing, 6,000 m2 of water for play and 25,000 m2 of lawn for lying and resting. The lake itself covers 2.5 ha; the operator says bathing in it was restored after twenty years thanks to continuous cleaning of the water on the outflow, and credits the newly built wakeboarding park with keeping the water moving, oxygenating it and slowing the formation of algae.

Five pools are listed. The operator's first summary calls them a mineral medokýš swimming pool of 50 m, a large L-shaped pool with two flumes and a four-lane slide, an I-shaped swimming pool of 50 m, and two children's pools, a Z pool and a baby pool for the smallest children. The second listing gives the same five by sector and adds surface areas: a 50 m swimming pool with 1000 m2 of water in the Senior sector, a 50 m Olympic swimming pool (I) with 1000 m2 in the Junior sector, a relaxation pool (L) with two flumes 60 m long and four slides 50 m long and 1500 m2 of water in the Junior sector, a children's relaxation pool (Z) with 750 m2, and a baby pool for children aged one to four with 80 m2 of water. The mineral pool has its own hygiene protocol published under the name Mädokýš. Water temperature in the pools is given as 22 °C to 30 °C, with the heated children's pools reaching 28 °C to 30 °C and the baby pool around 30 °C.

The flumes Calippo and Bystrický Expres were added in the 2019 season beside the L pool, and the operator rates them easy and medium. On the southern part of the lake floats the Aqua Fun Park, 1600 m2 of inflatable attractions with trampolines, climbing walls, gangways, slides, a water swing and a catapult, twenty-seven in all. The wake park by the lake offers wakeboarding on a 400 m cable, paddleboarding and other activities on the water. Dry facilities include beach volleyball and football pitches, a giant chess set, table tennis, an in-line track, fishing, and a bowling and badminton centre next to the site. Several refreshment stands operate in the grounds, the largest being the Rotunda, with the Koliba stand for langoše and the Wake Coffee Bar overlooking the lake.

The bath is a summer operation. The operator announced that the beach bath would be closed on 31 August because of forecast storms and that the 2026 summer season ended with that day, leaving only the northern entrance by ZARES in use. Opening hours are shown on the site as still to be specified, and no admission prices are published in the off-season, though a residents' discount for people with permanent residence in Banská Bystrica remains in force for the 2026 season on production of an identity card.
