About
Termas da Curia is a historic thermal spa in the Bairrada region of Anadia (Aveiro), Portugal, set within a landscaped 14-hectare park. The resort combines a traditional thermal complex with an outdoor pool, wellness programmes, a hotel, and dining, and is centred on the natural mineral water drawn from the Curia spring.
Thermal & mineral water
The Curia natural mineral water is strongly mineralised, of a sulphated calcium and magnesian character, with a hypersaline total mineralisation of roughly 1,900 mg/L and a pH around 7.2. The hydrothermal source emerges at approximately 19°C. One of the spa's distinctive features is its Art Deco-style Buvette, where visitors can drink the thermal water.
Balneotherapy & treatments
The thermal water is used therapeutically, with indications for metabolic and endocrine disorders, urinary stones and infections, arterial hypertension, and rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions. Treatments on offer include:
- Thermal pools and whirlpool immersion baths
- Scottish and fan showers
- Bertholet massage and Vichy massage
- Relaxation and muscle-toning massages
- Electrotherapy
- Gym with rehabilitation
Spa & wellness
The resort positions itself around health and wellness tourism, offering thermal water experiences and wellness programmes alongside an outdoor swimming pool within the park.
Hotel & dining
The Hotel Termas da Curia has 102 classically decorated rooms with park and interior views, ranging from standard, double and twin rooms to pool-view rooms and suites, suitable for solo travellers, couples and families. Dining is provided by the D. Carlos Restaurant and Café Bijou, with capacity for 300 guests, serving local Bairrada gastronomy. The property also has five meeting rooms for conferences and events.
