About

Vác Városi Uszoda és Strandfürdő is the municipal pool and open-air bath of Vác, on the Danube north of Budapest. It is a town bath with year-round lane swimming and a summer beach section.

The water

The venue describes a calcium-magnesium-hydrogen-carbonate chloride water and relates it to nerve pain; sulphur, chloride and magnesium dominate the analysis we hold. Pool temperatures run from 25 to 29 °C.

Pools

The 33-metre pool has eight lanes, is 200 to 220 cm deep and is held at 25-26 °C; it is covered by a tent from autumn to spring and runs all year. A covered 25-metre pool with four lanes, 108 to 155 cm deep, sits at 28-29 °C and closes for the summer season. The children's splash pool measures 6 by 10 m at 29 °C, with a slide and play features. In summer an L-shaped outdoor pool opens, 46 by 18.7 m, 80 to 148 cm deep and held at 27-28 °C.

Sauna

A Finnish sauna runs at 80-95 °C and takes one to four people; it has to be booked at least an hour ahead.

Visiting

In summer the bath opens 06:00 to 20:00 on weekdays and 07:00 to 20:00 at weekends. The cash desk opens at 07:00 and closes an hour before the bath. It is at Ady Endre sétány 16.
