Tiszaújvárosi Gyógy- és Strandfürdő

Tiszaújvárosi Gyógy- és Strandfürdő is a thermal and beach bath in Tiszaújváros, Hungary. It brings together indoor therapeutic pools, a seasonal outdoor beach-bath complex and a wellness sauna area, all supplied by the town's deep thermal spring. The bath received national thermal bath status in 2001.

The water

The thermal water is drawn from a depth of 1,200 metres and emerges at 65°C. Its mineral content is described as sodium chloride and bicarbonate. The site lists medical indications for the water including degenerative joint and spine conditions, chronic inflammatory joint diseases and psoriasis.

Pools

The therapeutic (gyógyfürdő) section has several indoor pools at graded temperatures: an indoor therapeutic pool at 34-36°C, one at 36-38°C fitted with a bubble bath and jets, and a circular indoor pool at 38-40°C, alongside an open-air therapeutic pool at 32-34°C.

The beach bath (strandfürdő), open in summer, adds a set of outdoor pools: a castle pool (Vármedence) at 30°C with a water-mushroom feature, an adventure pool (Kalandmedence) at 27°C with a wave channel, slide and bubbles, a wave pool (Hullámmedence) at 26°C, a 50-metre Olympic pool at 24°C, a slide pool at 24°C with three slides, and an experience-element therapeutic pool at 34°C.

Wellness & saunas

The wellness area offers an infrared sauna, a Finnish sauna, a biosauna with light therapy, a steam cabin and an ice bath, together with a solarium, massage, pedicure and a rest area with loungers.

Accommodation

On-site accommodation includes a thermal campsite with 200 tent and motorhome pitches, plus ten apartments of 32 m² each, sleeping up to five people.

Visiting

The thermal bath is open daily from 9:30 to 20:00, with scheduled maintenance closures in spring and autumn. The outdoor beach bath operates in the summer season (roughly mid-June to end of August). Adult full-day admission is 7,000 HUF, with reduced rates for students/children (6,000 HUF) and pensioners (5,500 HUF); children under four enter free. A separate sauna day ticket is 4,000 HUF.
