Sellyei Termálfürdő

Sellyei Termalfurdo is an open-air thermal bath at Furdo utca 43 in Sellye. Per its own history page, a well drilled on site in 1998 produced hotter water that has supplied the pools since; the water is a hydrogen-carbonate thermal water from a depth of 712 metres, used mainly for rheumatic and joint complaints and containing potassium, ammonium, calcium and magnesium in high concentration. The bath has four open-air pools: a 25 m, six-lane sports pool of 545 sqm at 24C, 180 cm deep and suited to competitions; a sitting thermal pool at 36C fed by the thermal well; a 17 m children's pool of 153 sqm at 30C; and a teaching pool at 30C. One Finnish sauna is available on site to both day visitors and guests staying in the bath's accommodation, at any time of day. Near the entrance a row of three food stalls sells langos, burgers, pancakes, donuts, grilled meat, hot dogs, gyros and ice cream. The grounds include a handball-sized sand court for beach handball and football, a streetball and footvolley area, and a bicycle rental point; next door is the town sports ground with football pitches and a running track. The operator states the bath is open every day from 10:00 to 22:00.
