Mezőtúri Strandfürdő

The Mezőtúri Strandfürdő és Fedett Uszoda (Mezőtúr Municipal Strand Bath and Covered Pool) sits in a quiet, parkland setting in Mezőtúr, Hungary, directly beside the Ligeti lake. It is a year-round bathing complex combining a summer outdoor strand with an indoor pool hall, operated by the town's municipal facilities company. In total it offers four outdoor and three indoor pools serving bathers, swimmers and those seeking rest.

The water

The bath's outdoor and indoor medicinal pools are fed by a certified alkaline-hydrogencarbonate medicinal water at 36–40 °C, and this medicinal pool operates throughout the year. The site states the water is well suited to the aftercare of rheumatic, musculoskeletal and gynaecological complaints, and that its high salt content has a positive effect on certain skin ailments. It reports that years of experience show the water is also suitable for the musculoskeletal rehabilitation of people with calcification of the spine, hip and knee joints.

Pools

The outdoor strand, open in the summer season, includes a 50 m competition pool at 26–28 °C for swimmers and sport, a strand pool at 30–32 °C, a children's pool for the 0–6 age group beside the playground, and the outdoor medicinal pool. The covered pool hall holds a 25 m training pool used for swimming lessons and swimming and water-polo training, a covered medicinal pool, and a multifunction pool at 32–33 °C for younger children.

Facilities

The complex grounds include a playground and beach volleyball and beach football courts. A 6–8 person electric Finnish sauna, first opened on 6 December 2014 and fitted with a new stove in January 2025 giving it a temperature of 80–90 °C, operates in the pool hall (though the site notes it may be temporarily out of service). An upstairs mini fitness room is equipped with an elliptical trainer, treadmill, exercise bike, bench press, dumbbells, a TRX and other equipment.

Visiting

In the summer season the outdoor swimming, medicinal, strand and children's pools are open; the strand opens Monday 13:00–19:00 and Tuesday to Sunday 9:00–19:00. In the winter season the indoor training, medicinal and multifunction pools run alongside the fitness room and Finnish sauna, with the same pool hours and the sauna open Friday 13:00–19:00 and Saturday to Sunday 9:00–19:00. The ticket desk closes one hour before closing time, and posted ticket prices include VAT.
