Mezőtúri Strandfürdő

The Mezőtúri Városi Strandfürdő és Fedett Uszoda stands in a quiet park on the edge of Mezőtúr, beside the Ligeti pond, and is run by the municipal company Mezőtúri Intézményellátó és Ingatlankezelő Nonprofit Kft. The operator describes four outdoor pools and three indoor ones, and the two halves work in turn: in summer the outdoor swimming, therapy, beach and children's pools are in use, while in winter the indoor teaching, therapy and multifunction pools carry on alongside the sauna and the gym.

According to the operator the certified medicinal water feeding both the outdoor and the indoor therapy pool is an alkali-hydrogencarbonate water at 36-40 °C, and the therapy pool is open all year. The operator states it suits the after-treatment of rheumatic, musculoskeletal and gynaecological conditions, that its high salt content has a positive effect on certain skin complaints. Those claims are the operator's; no mineral analysis or well depth is published.

The remaining pools are plainer. The 50-metre outdoor competition pool is held at 26-28 °C and the outdoor beach pool at 30-32 °C, with a pool for under-sixes next to the playground. Indoors, the 25-metre teaching pool is used for lessons and for swimming and water-polo training, and the multifunction pool at 32-33 °C is meant for younger children. An electric Finnish sauna seating six to eight works on the indoor side, Friday to Sunday only, and a fitness room is on the upper floor.

Admission is by ticket bought on site. The bath and the indoor pool open Monday 13:00-19:00 and Tuesday to Sunday 09:00-19:00, and the cash desk closes an hour before closing time.
