Gyógyfürdő

The Nagyatádi Termál- és Gyógyfürdő is a thermal and medicinal bath in Nagyatád, Hungary, set within the park of Széchenyi Square. Bathing on the site goes back to 1907, when it opened as a public bath (Nepfurdo), and the current bathhouse building was constructed in 1923. It is a state-certified medicinal bath and stays open year round.

The water

The bath draws on sodium bicarbonate thermal water, which the venue counts among the country's highest-quality medicinal waters. It is used for musculoskeletal complaints, rheumatic and joint conditions, rehabilitation after fractures and injuries, gynaecological problems, and, as a drinking cure, digestive-system disorders.

Pools

The indoor thermal pools are held at 34, 38 and 42 degrees C, with the warmer thermal pools restricted to visitors aged 14 and over unless medically prescribed. There is also an indoor atrium pool at 34 degrees C. Outdoors, the bath has a 25-metre swimming pool of 140 to 200 cm depth kept at 29 to 31 degrees C, together with a leisure and paddling pool at 35 to 37 degrees C.

Saunas & wellness

Sauna facilities include a Finnish sauna and an infrared sauna. The bath also has a Kneipp water-treading path and offers massage. Therapeutic services cover balneotherapy, hydrotherapy and electrotherapy, with treatments supported by the national health insurer available. The facility is wheelchair-accessible and has a cafe.

Visiting

The indoor pools open Monday and Wednesday to Friday from 8:00 to 18:00, Tuesday from 8:00 to 14:00, and Saturday to Sunday from 9:00 to 18:00. Therapeutic services run Monday to Friday from 7:15 to 15:00, and the doctor's office is available on Monday and Thursday from 9:00 to 15:00 by advance booking. A standard adult pool ticket is 2,900 HUF, with reduced rates for seniors and students (2,200 HUF), children (1,400 HUF) and local residents; multi-visit passes are also sold. A separate sauna ticket is 2,000 HUF.
