Csiszta Fürdő

Csiszta Fürdő is a thermal bath near Csisztapuszta in the village of Buzsák, in Somogy County, Hungary. It is built around a mineral-rich medicinal water certified as "Csisztafürdő K-12" therapeutic water (gyógyvíz). The bath combines several indoor and outdoor thermal pools with a sauna, sunbathing lawns, catering and an adjoining camping ground.

Thermal water

According to the bath's own account, the thermal water was found in 1956 at a temperature of 42°C during oil-exploration drilling in the Berek area near Csisztapuszta. The water is officially recorded as "Csisztafürdő K-12" therapeutic water (sample number 8201). The site lists the following measured composition (values in mg/l, unless noted): pH 7.17; calcium 173; magnesium 70; total hardness 406; chloride 1,624; sulfate 374; bicarbonate 2,280; iron 0.55; manganese 0.01; and ammonium 10.2.

Indications

The bath states that its thermal water is beneficial for rheumatic diseases, musculoskeletal (locomotor) disorders, urological complaints, gastrointestinal problems, rehabilitation after fractures, and skin conditions.

Five pools are listed:

• Outdoor pool (seasonal): 93 m³, 32–35°C
• Small thermal pool: 25 m³, 37–40°C
• Large thermal pool: 105 m³, 35–38°C
• Small covered thermal pool (seasonal): 15 m³, 37–39°C
• Large covered thermal pool: 120 m³, 35–38°C

Services

The bath lists a sauna, a children's playground, sunbeds, massage, and pedicure. Catering options include a café and a buffet, with a seasonal restaurant. A camping ground is available on site. The bath notes that use of the sunbathing area and the sauna is free of charge.

History

The thermal water was discovered in 1956 through oil-exploration drilling in the Berek area. The bath's history pages recall that the remote site was initially difficult to reach in both winter and summer, with access originally relying on a narrow-gauge railway because no paved road yet served the location. Historical material references the years 1956 and 1957, including a photograph captioned as showing Csisztafürdő in 1956.

Opening hours

The bath states seasonal opening hours: 3 April – 31 May, 1 June – 31 August, and 1 September – 30 November it is open 9:00–18:00; from 1 December – 2 April it is open 11:00–17:00. The bath reserves the right to change these hours.

Prices

Stated daily ticket prices (in HUF) include: adult 3,000; senior 2,700; discounted (local resident or groups of 10+) 2,400; child aged 6–14 years 2,000; and an afternoon ticket (3 hours before closing) 1,700. Ten-day passes and camping rates are also published.
