Bio Flexum-Termál Gyógyfürdő

Bio Flexum Termál Gyógyfürdő (Flexum Thermal Spa) is a thermal bath and medical spa in Mosonmagyaróvár, in north-western Hungary, at Kolbai Károly utca 10. The complex offers around 2,400 m² of water surface and adjoins the neighbouring Aqua Hotel Termal.

The water

The spa is supplied by thermal water that rises to the surface from a depth of about 2,000 metres at a source temperature of 74°C. The water is a recognised medicinal water (gyógyvíz) certified by Hungary's National Public Health Institute. According to the spa, its water is used to treat chronic musculoskeletal and rheumatic conditions, certain gynaecological complaints, circulatory disorders and respiratory problems.

Pools

The bath operates 13 pools of varying temperature and character. The therapeutic and sitting pools include the Golden medicinal pool (36-39°C, 0.75 m deep), the Silver sitting pool (34-37°C), a therapeutic pool at the medical centre (35-37°C) and a sitting pool by the Aqua Hotel (35-37°C). For swimming there are two outdoor pools, a 33-metre pool (22-27°C, 1.5 m deep) and a 25-metre pool (24-28°C, 1.5 m deep). Three experience pools run at 30-36°C, one of them the indoor Flexum Jungle. A jacuzzi operates at 35°C. Seasonal facilities open from May to September include a baby pool and a children's pool (both 30-32°C) and a spray park.

Saunas & water play

The spa has a sauna world (Szaunavilág) whose facilities include a Finnish sauna operating at 120°C and an infrared sauna at 35-55°C. A water play park with a spray park and slides is available for families.

Medical centre & treatments

The on-site Flexum Medical Centre (Flexum Gyógyászati Központ) is open Monday to Friday, 8:00-16:00. Treatments offered include carbon-dioxide baths, mud packs using Hévíz mud, underwater traction (weight) baths, inhalation therapy, oxygen therapy, underwater jet massage (tangentor), BEMER therapy, therapeutic massage and guided healing cure programmes.

Visiting

The spa is open every day from 8:00 to 20:00, with pool use ending at 19:30. In the off-peak season an adult day ticket costs 6,300 HUF and a child ticket (ages 3-14) 2,450 HUF; in peak season these rise to 7,000 HUF and 2,800 HUF. A separate sauna ticket is 3,850 HUF, and a 10-visit pass valid for one year costs 60,200 HUF. Family tickets and a combined ticket with the nearby Futura museum are also available.
