Borostyán Strandfürdő

Borostyán Camping és Strandfürdő is an open-air thermal bath and campsite in Mezőkovácsháza, Hungary, operating during the summer season. Its water comes from a local well measured at 72°C, mixed with cold water before filling three pools. The gyógymedence (medicinal pool) is an irregular pentagon with a seating bench around its edge and in the middle, covered on top in part and closed on the sides, holding water at 36-38°C; the operator calls it a certified medicinal pool. A children's pool holds water around 28°C at about 10 cm depth, and a swimming pool ranges 10-200 cm deep at roughly 28°C; both are open-air, tensioned-membrane pools. The medicinal water is described as high in dissolved minerals (3.0 g/l), a sodium-bicarbonate, chloride, iodide, fluoride and sulfide mineral water with notable metaboric and metasilicic acid content, used according to the operator for musculoskeletal conditions and gynecological complaints, and for stress relief. Mondays and Tuesdays only the medicinal pool operates; Wednesday through Sunday both pools run together. The grounds include a beach volleyball court, a sand football pitch, over 1,000 square meters of lawn, and an on-site buffet, with a restaurant nearby.
