About

The Vital Therme stands in Bad Wildbad, in the Enz valley in the northern Black Forest, the town's modern bath alongside the historic Palais Thermal. Formerly the Thermalbewegungsbad, it is run by Staatsbad Wildbad GmbH, a company belonging to the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The operator calls the water Wildbad thermal water, or Heilwasser, and states that its healing effect has been valued for centuries above all for the back and the joints — though nobody has to be ill to bathe. Bad Wildbad's thermal water rises in the spa quarter from more than 1,000 m down at 36 to 41 °C and is drawn today from five deep wells; the operator does not say which well supplies this bath, and publishes no analysis of its own.

There are two pools, which the operator counts plainly as one indoors at 32 °C and one in the garden at 34 °C, within what it describes as a 2,000 m² water landscape. It states that there is no dedicated children's area and no shallow water: the pools are deep, children may bathe only with an adult, non-swimmers must wear armbands, and the thermal pool admits children from six when accompanied.

The sauna landscape, the sauna garden and the steam bath are included in the entry price; the sauna opens from 13:00 on weekdays and from 09:30 at weekends and on public holidays. Massages, natural fango baths with thermal water and medical baths are charged separately.

Admission needs no stay and no referral. Opening is daily 09:00–19:00 and to 21:00 on Tuesday and Thursday, with last admission 90 minutes before closing.
