Freizeitbad Pfalzgrafenweiler

The bath the database lists under the generic name Freizeitbad is the Freizeitbad Pfalzgrafenweiler, at Panoramaweg 6, 72285 Pfalzgrafenweiler, run by the municipality with a Baederteam of four. The operator describes it as a facility for sport, fitness and health in the northern Black Forest with 70,000 visitors a year. It has two parts side by side, an indoor hall and an open-air bath, sharing one lawn.

The indoor hall, opened on 3 September 1983, holds a single 25-metre pool that a movable floor divides into a swimmer and a non-swimmer part. The swimmer section is 10.00 m wide by 25.00 m long with one starting block and a depth of 1.80 m; the non-swimmer section is 10.00 m by 9.83 m, with the floor set between 0.00 m and 1.80 m, and the operator publishes the floor depth for each day and hour, mostly 90 cm from 14:30 and 120 or 180 cm from 18:00. A panorama window looking onto the open-air bath was fitted in 2021. The open-air bath was rebuilt in stainless steel, reopening in 2005; its swimmer part is 12.73 m by 25.00 m with five starting blocks and a depth of 1.10 to 1.80 m, the non-swimmer part 12.73 m by 9.83 m with four massage jets, one waterfall shower and a slide of about 42.50 m, and the children's pool is 7.00 m by 13.00 m at 0.05 to 0.40 m deep with two spray jets, a water curtain and a connecting slide. Outside there is a lawn, beach volleyball and football goals. No sauna appears anywhere on the operator's pages.

The water is plain heated pool water, warmed with support from the WeilerWaerme cooperative: 29.5 degrees in the hall and 26 degrees in the open-air bath. The two operator pages disagree on the year the first open-air bath opened - the about page lists 1938 for the Freibad opening, while the history page says the first Freibad was inaugurated in 1937.

The hall is shut from 20 July to 13 September; otherwise it is closed on Mondays, open Tuesday to Friday 14:30-20:00, Saturday 10:00-19:00 and Sunday 09:00-12:30, with early swimming on Tuesday and Thursday 06:00-07:15 outside school holidays. The open-air bath ran from 16 May to 13 September 2026, Monday 11:00-20:00 and Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays 09:00-20:00. An adult day ticket is 5.00 euro, 3.50 euro for early swimming or after 17:00; the youth day ticket is 3.50 euro; children under four accompanied by a guardian enter free. Multi-visit cards run from 40.00 euro for ten adult entries to 145.00 euro for fifty.
