About

The Sieben Welten Therme & Spa Resort stands at Harbacher Weg 66 in Künzell, on the eastern edge of Fulda in Hesse, and is run together with the adjoining BäderParkHotel. Despite the word Therme in its name, the operator does not describe a thermal or mineral spring anywhere on its site: the water is heated fresh water, and the bath's identity rests instead on architecture. Seven themed worlds — Asia, Andalusia, Africa, Japan, Mexico, Arabia and India — are built with materials and design elements imported from the regions they represent, and the bathing and sauna areas are distributed among them.

Bathing centres on three areas. The Asian bathing bay lies under a large transparent membrane roof; its pool is 1.50 m deep and held at 32 °C, and a submerged tunnel leads from it to a pool bar 1.10 m deep at the same temperature. The Mexican area combines indoor and outdoor water with rapids, a water mushroom and a whirlpool modelled on an Inca temple, the pool 1.25 m deep at 29 °C and the whirlpool 0.85 m deep at 35 °C. The Andalusian section, which is textile-free and restricted to visitors aged 16 and over, has a 1.25 m outdoor pool at 23 °C reached from the terrace. The published air temperature in the halls is about 34 °C.

The sauna world is laid out in an Andalusian garden of more than 6,000 m² with old trees, biotopes, fountains and a rooftop sun terrace. Three cabins are listed as Finnish saunas: Malaga outdoors at 90 °C with a manual infusion from midday, Cadiz outdoors at 100 °C and dry, and Sevilla at 80 °C. To these are added the Cordoba infusion sauna at 90 °C, the Almeria infusion sauna at 80 °C with an automatic hourly infusion, a panorama sauna at 70 °C, the Alhambra bio-herb sauna at 60 °C and a textile treehouse sauna at 70 °C in the African section. Milder rooms include a steam bath at 40 to 50 °C, a tepidarium at about 38 to 40 °C and a salt grotto lined with Himalayan salt stone at about 35 °C. Plunge pools, ice fountains, sensory showers and an open fireplace complete the circuit.

A large treatment department offers massages, bathing ceremonies, Ayurveda, facial treatments and a hamam, and there are private spa suites, an Asia lounge and bookable exclusive loungers. The resort opens daily from 10.00 to 22.00; tickets are sold as 2.5-hour and 4.5-hour tarifs including sauna use rather than as day passes, and the operator states that it offers no attractions for children.
