Erlebnisbad Haßfurt
Leisure bath at the Großen Anger in Haßfurt, in operation since 1988, with six swimming and leisure pools, a 127 m water slide, two Finnish saunas at about 90 °C and a steam grotto used through the winter.
About
The Freizeit- und Erlebnisbad in Haßfurt is run by Stadtwerk Haßfurt GmbH at the Großen Anger and forms part of a wider Freizeitzentrum that also includes an ice rink with its own separate season and hours; only the bath is described here. The operator states the bath was brought into service in 1988 and counts on average 90,000 visitors a year, calling it the town's largest leisure attraction.
The bath has a stated total of six swimming and leisure pools. Its site plan names them individually as a Warmwasserbecken, a Schwimmerbecken, a Springerbecken for diving, a Freizeitbecken, a Mehrzweckbecken and a Kinderplanschbecken, together with a Massagepilz, a children's playground, a play area with beach volleyball, badminton and table tennis, two large lawns, a lift, and the zwischen.drin restaurant with a terrace. The main attraction is a 127 m water slide, which the operator describes as one of the longest in Franconia. The swimmers' pool is also made available in summer to clubs and schools for lessons and competitions, arranged with the outdoor-pool staff. No water temperatures are published for any pool, and the operator describes neither brine nor thermal or mineral water anywhere: the water is ordinary heated pool water.
The sauna area holds two Finnish saunas at about 90 °C, each seating roughly 20 people, plus a steam bath. The steam bath is described as working at a relative room temperature of 42° to 48 °C with high humidity, recommended for chronic respiratory complaints and rheumatic conditions. The site plan lists a sauna together with the Wärmehalle and, separately, a Dampfgrotte with an outdoor sauna, which is consistent with the two saunas named in the text if the outdoor one is the second of them. From October to March the warm-water pool and the Wärmehalle with the steam grotto and both saunas stay open, so bathing continues through the winter.
Summer hours are 09:00–20:00 Monday to Friday, at weekends and on public holidays, with a morning tariff from 09:00 to 11:30 and an evening tariff from 17:00 to 20:00. The operator announces winter operation from 14 September 2026 at 14:00–21:00 on all days including holidays, with a two-hour tariff available in winter. Admission is 6.00 euro for an adult day ticket and 4.50 euro on the morning, evening or two-hour tariff; young people under 18 pay 4.00 and 3.00 euro; children under 6 enter free. The sauna surcharge is 5.00 euro on every tariff. Prepaid chip wristbands give 10, 20 or 30 percent off admission at 25.00, 50.00 and 100.00 euro, against a 10.00 euro deposit. The zwischen.drin restaurant opens Tuesday to Saturday from 17:00 to 23:00.
