Salinarium - Thermalbad

The Salinarium in Bad Dürkheim is a brine-based thermal bath (Thermalbad) that fills its pools with saline water. The site states two brine strengths in use: a 1% Sole concentration in the thermal pools and a 12% Sole concentration in the dedicated floating pool (Schwebebecken), where the high salinity is used to support buoyancy. The complex combines indoor and outdoor thermal water, a multi-level sauna area, and a spa department with treatments and cosmetics.

Thermal water and pools

According to the site, the main thermal pool (Thermalbecken) is kept at 34 °C, and an outdoor thermal pool with a current channel is likewise at 34 °C. Further water basins include a whirlpool at 36 °C, a hot pool (Heißbecken) at 40 °C, and a cold plunge pool (Kaltbecken) at 18 °C. Indoor features listed include bubbling loungers, massage jets, floor bubblers, an inhalation room and infrared seats; the outdoor area adds neck showers and massage nozzles. Mandatory swimwear (Textilpflicht) applies in the thermal and leisure pools.

Sauna

The sauna area is spread over three floors and is described as a textile-free space. The site lists a Relaxsauna at 65 °C and a garden Waldsauna at 80 °C (Finnish sauna) on the ground floor; a Babbelsauna at 90 °C and a steam bath (Dampfbad) at 45 °C, plus a foot-warming pool and plunge pool, on the first floor; and a Panoramasauna at 90 °C with a foot-warming pool on the second floor, offering views over the town and the Palatinate Forest. Sauna infusions (Aufgüsse) are conducted exclusively by staff, with monthly highlight evenings featuring special infusions.

Wellness and spa

The spa offers massages including an aroma-oil massage, back-and-neck massage, Winzermassage, Lomi Lomi Nui, hot-stone massage, lymphatic drainage and a foot wellness massage. Body treatments include a brine-salt peeling (Solesalz-Peeling), an AHA body peeling, and a peeling combined with a back massage. Facial cosmetics range from anti-aging and lifting treatments to men's facials and deep cleansing, and the site lists apparatus-based cosmetics such as Hydra Plus facials, microdermabrasion, microneedling, radiofrequency and skin analysis. Signature packages include a sand-stamp massage on a quartz-sand lounger and multi-step packages such as "Zeit für mich", "Deep Detox" and "Lady's Day".

Facilities and access

The site notes accessible (barrierefreie) changing rooms and showers, a pool lifter for guests with disabilities (capacity 130 kg), and free drinking-water stations. On-site gastronomy operates daily from 11:00 to 20:00. Children under 18 require adult supervision in the thermal bath, and children under 7 require supervision in the leisure pool.

Opening hours and prices

The thermal bath and sauna generally open 09:00–22:00, with reduced leisure-pool hours on Mondays (09:00–18:00) due to club swimming. Stated example prices (Mon–Thu) include an adult day ticket at €28.70 and a 4-hour ticket at €23.30, with reduced rates for children aged 3 and over, students under 25 and guests with disabilities.
