Badehaus Rödermark

Das Badehaus Roedermark is the town's indoor swimming hall, at Am Schwimmbad 2 in the Hessian commuter belt south-east of Frankfurt. It holds three basins, and the house publishes a temperature for each: a 25-metre swimmers' pool with four lanes at 28 C, equipped with a one-metre springboard and a three-metre diving tower; a non-swimmers' pool at 32 C with a children's slide, underwater massage jets and neck cascades; and a separate baby pool at 33.5 C inside a parent-and-child area. The hall air is held at 31 to 32 C. There is a quiet zone and vending machines indoors, and in summer the site opens a sunbathing lawn with loungers plus a children's play and mud area outside.

This is a town amenity rather than a resort, and the timetable shows it. Mondays and Wednesdays the pool is given over entirely to school and club sport; the public swims Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 21:00 and at weekends and on public holidays from 10:00 to 17:00, with the till closing an hour and bathing fifteen minutes before the doors. Swimming courses further restrict the non-swimmers' pool and the fast lane in the sports pool on three afternoons a week. Prices match that character: 5 euros buys an adult two and a half hours and 7 euros a full day, children under one metre tall enter free, and only cash and Girocard are accepted.

The sauna, wellness area and catering are not run by the town. Since 1 October 2015 they have been leased to Saunaritter GmbH, a Roedermark company that keeps its own timetable and price list: Wednesday to Saturday from 13:00 to 23:00 and Sundays and holidays from 10:00 to 20:00, at 22 euros for two hours or 30 euros for a day, with the Wednesday slot dropped from early June to the end of September. The leaseholder programmes themed infusion evenings through the year and sells massages and food on site. No thermal or mineral water is claimed anywhere: the Badehaus is a heated municipal pool, and the operator publishes neither an opening year nor a count of sauna cabins.
