Aquadrom Hockenheim

The Aquadrom stands at Beethovenstrasse 41 in Hockenheim and belongs to Stadtwerke Hockenheim. The operator says it has been serving guests for over 60 years but names no opening year. The water is not thermal: the indoor bath has brine pools, while the rest is plain heated water, and no spring, well depth or mineral analysis is published anywhere on the site.

The indoor bath comprises a 25-metre sports pool, a course pool with a one-metre board used daily for lessons, a bathing landscape with a non-swimmer area, a bubble pool and a current channel, a brine pool at 32°C with massage jets and underwater sound, a brine outdoor pool with water at 33°C, and a redesigned toddlers' area. The giant slide is described on this page as 72 metres long with several changes of direction, light effects, strobes and a starry sky. Note a contradiction between two of the operator's own pages: the indoor bath page calls the giant slide 72 m, while the open-air bath page lists a 70 m giant slide; the site does not say whether these are the same slide or two.

The open-air bath is presented as one of Germany's finest, built around a large outdoor wave pool. The operator lists 35,000 m² of grounds, a wave pool of 1,470 m³, a lagoon and a water mushroom, the 70 m giant slide, a toddlers' terrace paddling pool, a fun outdoor pool with underwater massage jets and floor bubblers, a terrace with shaded places, a beach area, a chill-out lawn and a kiosk. It has its own separate entrance and exit, which is open during the Baden-Württemberg summer holidays depending on weather and is explicitly not barrier-free.

The sauna landscape is enumerated without a total: a herbal sauna at 75°C, a log-house sauna at 90°C, a fire sauna at 90°C, an aroma sauna with light, sound and scents at 60°C, and a steam bath at 45°C, with infusions daily on the hour from 11:00 to 20:00. Around them lie a 1,600 m² sauna garden, described elsewhere on the site as a nudist garden, quiet areas, a cold plunge pool and an open-air swimming pool, and a sauna bistro; the sauna tariff includes all other bathing areas. A separate salt grotto is bookable in sessions, the last at 19:15, and massages are by appointment.

The house is open Monday to Sunday 10:00-21:00 with last admission at 20:00, and the open-air bath 10:00-20:00; the operator notes that the former Tuesday closing day has been dropped. Length of stay is unlimited except on the two-hour short tariff. Admission is 12.00 euro for adults to the bath and 9.00 euro reduced, 6.00/5.00 euro on the two-hour tariff, 5.00/3.00 euro for the open-air bath alone, 20.00 euro for sauna including the bath and 14.50 euro on the evening sauna tariff from 18:00, and 10.00/5.50 euro for the salt grotto. Season tickets and multi-visit cards are sold, and people with a birthday get in free on the day on showing identification.
