Mineraltherme Böblingen is a thermal spa in Böblingen, Germany, drawing certified fluoride-bearing sodium-chloride healing water from a depth of 775 metres. It offers five thermal pools between 32 and 36 °C, an extensive sauna area, and wellness and massage facilities, open daily 9:00 to 22:00.

About

Mineraltherme Böblingen is a thermal bath in Böblingen, Germany. It is built around a certified natural healing water and combines indoor and outdoor thermal pools with a large sauna area and treatment facilities.

The water

The site draws a fluoride-bearing sodium-chloride thermal water that rises from a depth of 775 metres. It is recognised as a healing water (Heilwasser) on the basis of a full balneological water analysis. According to the figures published by the operator, each litre contains roughly 1,890 mg of sodium, 2,570 mg of chloride, 527 mg of sulphate and 5.15 mg of fluoride, with a total dissolved mineral content of about 6,131 mg per litre. The operator states the water suits degenerative and chronic inflammatory rheumatic conditions and the treatment and after-care of accident injuries, operations and disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and notes that the warm thermal water is not recommended for acute joint inflammation or rapidly progressing paralysis.

Pools

There are five thermal pools. Two are outdoor: a large outdoor pool at 32 °C, equipped with neck showers, massage jets, bubbling seat benches, a whirlpool and a cold-water plunge basin, and a smaller outdoor pool at 34 °C. Three are indoor: a large indoor pool at 32 °C set beneath a domed hall, a sound-and-movement pool at 34 °C, and a relaxation pool at 36 °C. The sound-and-movement pool may close at times for dedicated health programmes.

Sauna

The Classic Sauna area contains four different sauna cabins and two steam rooms. The Saunagarten (sauna garden) adds six further thermal saunas and its own sauna pool. A highlight is the MeerKlimaSauna, a sea-climate room that the operator presents as beneficial for the immune system, the respiratory tract and the skin. Sauna and steam-bath use is textile-free.

Health and wellness

Beyond bathing and sauna, the venue offers massages, infrared loungers, movement and exercise programmes, and ice bathing (Eisbaden). A restaurant provides food and drink on site.

Visiting

The Mineraltherme is open Monday to Sunday from 9:00 to 22:00, and stays open until midnight on the first Friday of each month. A three-hour ticket for the thermal bath with the Classic Sauna costs 17.50 € for adults on weekdays and 19.00 € at weekends and on public holidays; reduced tickets are 16.00 € and 17.50 € respectively, and a family ticket (two adults plus up to two children aged 5–16) is 50.00 € on weekdays and 53.00 € at weekends.
