Kristall Therme Trimini

Kristall Therme Trimini is a thermal bath in Kochel am See, Bavaria, built around salt-water (Sole) and Natron bathing pools. According to the operator, the complex spans roughly 12,000 square metres and looks out over Lake Kochel (Kochelsee) and the surrounding Bavarian Alps. It combines therapeutic brine pools, a family leisure pool, and a sauna and wellness area.

Thermal and brine pools

The Wohlfühltherme brings together several pools at differing salt concentrations. The site lists an indoor Kristallbecken at about 1.5% Sole (approx. 35°C), an indoor pool at 6% Sole (approx. 34°C), a Natron pool (approx. 34°C), an indoor cold plunge pool, an outdoor Solebecken at 12% Sole (approx. 35°C), and an outdoor pool at 6% Sole (approx. 34°C). The operator states a total water surface of around 1,500 square metres.

Stated therapeutic properties

The operator describes the salt water as caring for the skin through disinfecting and anti-inflammatory effects, and lists the following stated benefits: relief for skin conditions such as neurodermatitis with regular use; respiratory support through aerosol inhalation acting on the mucous membranes; and reduction of rheumatism and arthritis pain via muscle relaxation and the buoyancy of the water. The Natron pool is described as having a detoxifying and skin-softening effect.

Family and leisure pool

The Vital- und Freizeitbad covers approximately 1,800 square metres with two slides. Indoor features listed include an Aktivbecken (approx. 32°C), the Kristallgrotte with gentle spray jets (approx. 32°C), a baby pool (approx. 34°C), a children's pool (approx. 32°C), Gumpen 1+2 with a mini-slide (approx. 30°C), and the 80-metre Röhrenrutsche Karwendelblitz with eight bends. An outdoor area open from May to September adds a covered year-round family pool (approx. 34°C) with whirl function, an open-air pool with diving tower, a baby outdoor pool (approx. 30°C), the 160-metre Kochelexpress outdoor slide, and direct lake access via a wooden boardwalk. Baby swimming courses for ages 4-20 months are offered in 33°C water.

Sauna and wellness

The sauna and wellness area, stated at around 5,400 square metres, comprises five saunas, one steam bath (Dampfbad), one Ottoman hamam, and a birch sauna used for the Pirts ritual. The Herzogstand-Sauna has two ovens for sauna-championship events. Wellness offerings listed include massages, cosmetic treatments and pampering packages, along with the Pirts ritual, a Latvian sauna tradition using birch branches and medicinal plants (offered individually at 75€ for 90 minutes, or as a group session at 15€ for 25 minutes).

The Wohlfühltherme is open Monday-Thursday 10:00-22:00, Friday 10:00-23:00, Saturday 09:00-23:00 and Sunday 09:00-22:00. The Vital- und Freizeitbad is open Monday-Friday 10:00-21:00 and Saturday-Sunday 09:00-21:00. Wednesdays and Sundays are designated textile and family days.
