Fontane Therme

Fontane Therme is a thermal bath in Neuruppin, Brandenburg, on the shore of the Ruppiner See. Its brine comes from the Fontane Quelle, certified in 2011 as Brandenburg's only state-recognized healing spring; it is drawn from 1,700 m depth, has a source temperature of 63.4°C and a salinity of 17%, and was tested by BTU Cottbus in 2012 and SGS Institut Fresenius in 2017. The bathing area spans two levels. The lower, swimsuit-required level has a large indoor freshwater pool and two outdoor brine pools with salt concentrations of three to eight percent, plus a salt-inhalation wall (Gradierwerk). The upper, textile-free level holds an outdoor floating pool (Schwebebecken) and themed saunas: a Finnish sauna at 90°C, a biosauna at 60°C, a laconium at 50°C, two steam baths, an ice grotto, and a family sauna with a steam sauna and a Finnish sauna, open during Berlin/Brandenburg school holidays or on request. A walkway leads to what the operator calls Germany's largest floating lake sauna, moored on the Ruppiner See, running at 50-60°C until 2pm and 80-90°C afterward, with steps down into the open lake. The site also runs a bistro, Bistro Seeblick, and is part of a resort with a hotel and three restaurants.
