Marienbad Brandenburg
The Funbad is the family and slide section of the Marienbad in Brandenburg an der Havel, a municipal leisure and sports bath that also holds two competition swimming halls, an outdoor pool and a sauna world.
About
The venue listed here as Funbad is not a separate bath: Funbad is the family and attraction section of the Marienbad in Brandenburg an der Havel, at Sprengelstrasse 1. The operator's site presents four areas under one roof and one admission structure — Sportbad, Funbad, Freibad and Sauna & Wellness — and the homepage describes the whole as offering training "in unseren modernen Schwimmbaedern mit 25- und 50-Meter-Schwimmhallen" alongside the Funbad with its slides and paddling pool. Nothing on the operator's pages describes the water as thermal or mineral; no spring, borehole or analysis is mentioned anywhere on the site. The water is plain heated municipal pool water, tempered differently per basin.
In the Funbad the main basin runs at 31 °C with a depth of 135 cm and carries water slides, a counter-current channel and bubble jets. Two slides are named: a three-metre-wide broad-lane slide (Breitwasserrutsche) and an 80-metre tube slide fitted with a timing installation, which the operator marks as suitable from age six. The paddling pool for babies and toddlers is held at 32 °C with a maximum depth of 45 cm and has an elephant-shaped slide and assorted spray jets. The operator states plainly that the whirlpools are no longer usable on account of their age, and warns that parts of the Funbad can be closed off while aqua-fitness courses run.
The Sportbad holds two halls. The 25-metre hall is at 28 °C with a depth of 190 cm; the 50-metre hall is also at 28 °C, up to 380 cm deep, with eight lanes and competition conditions, and a convertible roof that the operator says opens in under 30 minutes so the hall becomes an open-air pool in summer. The sauna area is enumerated rather than counted: indoors a classic Finnish sauna, a meditation variant with light therapy, a soft sauna with colour light and herbal scent, and an aroma steam bath, with two rest rooms; the outdoor area adds a quiet sauna, a rest room and shower area, an outdoor sauna with half-hourly infusions, a sauna garden, a plunge pool and a terrace. The operator's own figures name 100 °C for the Finnish sauna, 95 °C outdoors, 85 °C for the meditation sauna, 60 °C for the soft sauna and 45 °C for the aroma steam bath. Ladies' sauna runs every Tuesday except public holidays.
The sauna operates on two seasons, winter from 1 October to 30 April and summer from 1 May to 30 September, with infusions daily 10:00–19:00 in summer and 10:00–20:45 in winter. The detailed daily opening table is drawn by a script and was not readable as text, so no hours are recorded here; the operator does state that the bath opens from 9:00 on public holidays and always from 10:00 on Mondays, and that admission closes one hour before the bath shuts. Admission is published in tariff groups: Sportbad and Freibad at 5.00 € for two hours and 6.80 € for a day ticket, the group including Funbad at 6.90 € for two hours and 9.70 € for a day ticket, and the sauna at 17.40 € for two hours and 19.60 € for a day ticket, with reduced rates alongside each. Parking in the multi-storey garage costs 2.00 € per day for customers. No opening year is published on the operator's site and there is no German Wikipedia article under this name, so none is recorded.
