Kristall Therme Bad Wilsnack is a brine and sauna spa in Bad Wilsnack, Germany, built around iodine-rich thermal brine from its own source. Its complex of roughly 12,000 m2 combines salt-water pools, eight saunas, steam baths and an Ottoman hamam, and is open 364 days a year.

About

Kristall Therme Bad Wilsnack is a thermal brine spa in the German spa town of Bad Wilsnack, in Brandenburg. Spread over a site of nearly 12,000 m2, it centres on naturally iodine-rich brine and pairs indoor and outdoor bathing with an extensive sauna world, steam baths and wellness treatments.

The water

The spa draws high-percentage, iodine-bearing brine from its own source. Its signature salt lake reaches a saline concentration of about 24 percent, giving strongly buoyant water; the German cure tradition also associates the site with iron. Additional natural brine pools carry lower salt levels, described on the site as ranging from roughly 1.5 to 12 percent. A mini graduation works (Gradierwerk) beneath the dome lets the iodine brine trickle over blackthorn branches so guests can breathe in the salt-laden air. The spa is a certified medicinal bath, and its waters are used in connection with circulatory and musculoskeletal complaints.

Pools and bathing

The main salt-lake pool offers around 600 m2 of water surface at a depth of about 1.10 to 1.30 m and a temperature near 32 degC. Part of the bathing area sits indoors under a Texlon-membrane dome, while the outdoor zone has a sand beach, loungers and straw-topped parasols. Within the sauna area are further warm-water features, including an indoor whirlpool at about 36 degC and an outdoor brine pool at roughly 1.5 percent salt and about 34 degC. Complimentary water gymnastics is offered daily.

Saunas and steam baths

The sauna world comprises eight saunas in total, split between three indoor themed saunas and five outdoor saunas, operating between about 70 and 100 degC. Two steam baths, the Nebelhoehle mist cave and the Baerenhoehle salt-steam bath, each run at around 45 degC, and there is an Ottoman-style hamam indoors. A gemstone meditation grotto adds a quiet retreat.

Wellness

Treatment options include massages, pedicures and physiotherapy, alongside a comfort garden with relaxation areas.

Visiting

The spa is open 364 days a year, from 09:00 to 21:00 Sunday to Thursday and 09:00 to 22:00 on Friday and Saturday. A restaurant serves guests on site, and children pay reduced rates in summer, with ages 6 to 15 at half price and under-6s free.
