Fackelmann-Therme Hersbruck

The Fackelmann-Therme is a thermal bath in Hersbruck, Germany, opened in 2004. It combines thermal pools fed by state-recognised healing water with a sports and adventure pool, a summer lido, and an extensive sauna park.

The water

The baths use water the operator describes as state-recognised healing water ("staatlich anerkanntes Heilwasser"). It is a highly mineralised water with a mineral content stated at 14.2 g/l, drawn from the Buntsandstein geological layer and described as palaeo-water demonstrably more than 40,000 years old. The operator characterises it as a bicarbonate, sulphate and chloride thermal water; the passed-in record also lists hydrogencarbonate, iron and sulphur among its minerals. Since 2017 the water is treated with GRANDER vitalisation technology.

Pools & saunas

The thermal area (Thermenwelt) offers an indoor thermal pool at about 34 °C and an outdoor thermal pool at about 36 °C, the latter fitted with massage jets and bubble loungers. Features include an underground grotto with ambient lighting, underwater music in the main pool, and a steam bath. An infrared cabin is available for an additional fee. The separate sports and adventure pool centres on a five-lane 25 m pool alongside action pools and water slides, while the outdoor Strudelbad lido operates in summer with beach volleyball courts, a children's playground and table tennis. The sauna park (Saunapark) comprises three indoor and four outdoor saunas with rest areas, and a barrel sauna is available to rent.

Wellness & activities

Massage and cosmetic treatments are offered on site through the partner practice Physiopraxis Kurtev. The venue also runs a swimming school, spa courses and fitness programmes, free morning water gymnastics, and hosts children's birthday parties. An RV parking area is provided.

Visiting

From 1 July 2026 the baths are open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, with the sauna open until 21:00. Children under three enter free, and visitors receive free day admission on their birthday with photo ID. Reduced rates are offered for students, visitors with a disability of 60% or more, seniors and RV guests; specific ticket prices are published only in the operator's downloadable price lists and online shop.
