About

The ARRIBA Erlebnisbad in Norderstedt is a leisure bath with an indoor hall, a year-round outdoor bathing area, a summer open-air section and a separate sauna area; the site is linked to the municipal Stadtwerke Norderstedt. On the water itself the operator's wording needs care. One pool is presented under the heading "Therme mit Whirlpool" and described as a "Thermalbecken", but no spring, no well and no mineral analysis is published anywhere on the site, and the pool is simply given as warm water at 33 °C: the thermal wording is branding rather than a sourced claim. The one pool whose water genuinely differs is the open-air Solebad, which the operator states is salt water with 3 % brine. Everything else is plain heated water.

The pools are listed one by one with temperature and depth instead of a total. Indoors and in the year-round outdoor area there are a 25 m sports pool with six lanes at 28.0 °C and 1.80 m deep; a diving pool at 25.0 °C and 3.80 m deep with 1 m and 3 m boards, the tower opening daily at 11:00 while the pool is used for lane swimming before that; the 33.0 °C warm-water pool with floor bubblers, bubble loungers, cascade showers and a whirlpool, 1.10 m deep; the open-air Solebad at 30.0 °C and 1.10 m deep with 3 % brine, open all year; an indoor adventure pool at 31.0 °C and 1.10 m deep with a water mushroom, a climbing net, a waterfall with a steep-wall slide and climbing ladders, a bubbling mound and a current channel; a heated open-air adventure pool at 30.0 °C and 1.10 m deep with cascade showers, bubble loungers and massage jets; a wave pool at 29.5 °C running from 0.00 to 1.35 m deep, with waves on the hour; a baby pool at 33.0 °C and 0.20–0.40 m deep with small slides and water-spouting animals; and a non-swimmers' pool at 33.0 °C and 0.70–1.10 m deep. A 50 m outdoor sports pool at 24.0 °C and 1.80 m deep runs only in the season from 1 June to 31 August.

The slide set is summed up by the operator as six slides and 370 metres. Named individually they are the tyre slide at 115 m (from age 6), the Turborutsche at 48 m (from age 10, advertised as a six-second ride), the Wildwasserbach at 124 m (from age 10), which starts indoors, runs in the open air and lands back inside, the Panoramarutsche at 75 m, which passes under a transparent dome, and the Familienrutschen at 10 m; non-swimmers may use the last two only accompanied by a swimmer.

The sauna area holds six saunas plus a steam bath, arranged around a sauna garden with a year-round heated whirlpool, a small swimming pool, two quiet rooms, loungers, parasols and hooded beach chairs. The cabins are the Vitalsauna at 90.0 °C, the Panoramasauna at 70 °C with dimmed light and a dune mural, the Kräutersauna at 95 °C with herbs and essential oils, the Meditationssauna at 55.0 °C with coloured light, the Erlebnissauna at 80 °C in the sauna garden for show infusions, and the Klönschnacksauna at 65.0 °C, where conversation is expressly allowed. The oriental steam bath runs at 40.0–45.0 °C with 100 % humidity, and the Gletscherhöhle ice cave at −9.0 °C provides the cool-down. Infusions run to a published timetable, and on the first Tuesday of the month the sauna is split by sex, men 11:00–15:00 and women 15:30–22:00.

The sports, toddler and adventure pools with the panorama slide open Monday to Thursday 06:30–22:00, Friday 06:30–23:00, Saturday 09:00–23:00 and Sunday and public holidays 09:00–22:00. The slide and wave area and the sauna both open at 11:00 on Monday to Thursday and Friday, and at 09:00 at the weekend; during the Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein school holidays the slide and wave area also opens at 09:00. Admission to the bath is 14.00 € for adults and 8.50 € for children on weekdays and 15.00 € and 9.00 € at weekends and on public holidays for a whole day; a three-hour ticket costs 11.50 € and 6.50 € on weekdays. An early-swimmer tariff from 06:30 to 11:00 on weekdays costs 7.50 € and 5.00 €. The child rate applies up to and including the age of 15. The operator publishes no opening year and the bath has no German Wikipedia article.
