Sportzentrum BadeINSEL
BadeINSEL is a year-round leisure bath in Tamsweg in the Salzburg Lungau, combining an indoor hall with a 25-metre sports pool, a recreation pool and an 80-metre Black Hole slide, a summer open-air bath with a diving facility, and a four-cabin sauna area.
About
BadeINSEL is operated by Sport u. Immobilien GmbH at Sportzentrum 2, A-5580 Tamsweg, in the Lungau holiday region of Salzburg. The operator describes it as a leisure bath with various pools indoors and outdoors, a sauna landscape and a Black Hole water slide. No thermal or mineral water is claimed anywhere on the site, and the operator publishes no well data, source temperature or water analysis: the pools are heated fresh water, and the published figures are pool temperatures rather than a spring.
The indoor hall is described as a 25-metre sports pool for lane swimming at 28 C and a recreation pool with massage loungers at 31 C, with massage zones, a waterfall and floor bubblers, a children's pool at 31 C, and a heated outdoor pool that can be used in the colder season, given as 31 C in winter. The attraction is an 80-metre Black Hole water slide. The operator states that the bath has disabled-accessible facilities. The open-air bath, open in summer only, is described as offering pleasant water temperatures of 25 C, a 25-metre sports pool with a diving facility comprising a one-metre springboard and a three-metre tower, an experience area, a children's pool at 30 C, a beach volleyball court and a lawn with sun terraces and a parasol bar.
Two operator pages disagree on the indoor temperatures. The Hallenbad page gives the sports pool as 28 C and the recreation pool as 31 C, and the counters on the home page show the same 28 and 31; a news item on the same home page quotes the mayor of Tamsweg saying the sports pool is at 30 degrees and the recreation pool at 32. The home page separately announces that the water temperatures of the sports, recreation and children's pools have been raised. Both figures are reproduced here rather than one being chosen.
The sauna area is listed as a Finnish sauna at about 90 C, a bio-sauna at 50 C, a steam sauna at about 40 C and an infrared cabin, with a large outdoor section and a view towards the pilgrimage church of St Leonhard. No total number of cabins is given.
Opening hours differ by season. In the summer season, from 29 May to 20 September 2026, the indoor bath is open daily 10:00 to 20:30 and the open-air bath daily 10:00 to 19:30. In the winter season the indoor bath is open 10:00 to 20:30 Tuesday to Sunday, with Monday a rest day except during the Austrian autumn, Christmas, semester and Easter holidays. The mixed sauna is open 14:00 to 20:30 Monday to Sunday. The till closes one hour before the end of operation. The operator lists closures for maintenance from 26 to 28 May 2026, from 21 September to 15 October, and on 24 December. Published admission for the bath is a winter tariff of 15,00 for an adult day ticket and 11,00 for two hours, and a summer tariff of 10,50 and 7,50; children and young people aged 4 to 15 pay 9,00 and 6,50 in winter and 6,50 and 4,50 in summer. A combined bath and sauna ticket is priced all year at 22,00 for an adult day ticket and 15,00 for two hours. Note that the site's template still carries unreplaced demo contact text for a fictitious company in San Francisco in its hidden login and support panels.
