GrimmingTherme

The GrimmingTherme is a thermal bath at Bad Mitterndorf in Styria, below the Grimming massif. It has three indoor and four outdoor pools, a separated children's area with a giant slide, and a sauna village kept apart from the bathing hall.

The water

The bore reaches 2,413 metres and finds water at 40 °C at the bottom, delivered at 1.5 to 2.0 litres a second. The venue classifies it as an acratic, fluoride-bearing calcium-magnesium sulphate thermal water, with 1,876 mg of dissolved minerals per litre and a pH of 7.2; calcium, magnesium, fluoride and sulphur dominate the analysis.

Pools

Most basins are 1.35 m deep. The indoor and outdoor relaxation pools are held at 33-34 °C, as is the sauna relaxation pool. The youth and sports pool is cooler, at 26-27 °C, and deeper at 1.30 to 1.80 m. The open-air cold pool runs at 24-25 °C and the sauna plunge pool much colder, at 12-14 °C. The children's splash pool is 0.3 m deep at 33-34 °C, with the slide beside it.

Sauna village

The Saunadorf is separate from the thermal area, with several cabins, rest areas and a pool of its own. Admission is from the age of 16.

Visiting

The thermal bath opens from 08:00 to 21:00 and the sauna from 09:00 to 21:00, with the water cleared at 20:45; the Welldiana Club Spa runs 10:00 to 19:00. On weekdays a four-hour adult ticket is 19.50 EUR and a day ticket 24.00 EUR, with a children's day ticket at 13.50 EUR for ages 4 to 14 and a sauna supplement of 12.50 EUR; weekends and holidays add 2 EUR per person.
