Eurotherme Bad Hall

The EurothermenResort Bad Hall lies in Upper Austria, about 37 km from Linz, at Kurpromenade 1 in Bad Hall. Its centrepiece is the Therme Mediterrana, a Mediterranean-themed thermal spa set in a park, drawing on the town's iodine-brine (Jodsole) mineral water. The resort combines bathing, a sauna world, and medical spa and rehabilitation facilities.

Thermal pools

The Therme Mediterrana offers several pools and thermal rooms. Indoors there is a pool at around 32°C with an antique-style water temple and massage jets, and a vitality pool at around 33°C with massage nozzles that connects to the outdoor area. A panoramic outdoor pool at around 33°C provides alpine views and a waterfall neck-massage feature, alongside panoramic whirlpools at around 34°C. A Roman Bath thermal room reaches around 40°C, with a recommended stay of 20 minutes, and iodine-brine steam baths are also available for 20-minute sessions. A daylit relaxation lounge is provided, and a separate children's area, the Mini-Mediterrana, has garden access in summer.

Relaxium sauna world

The Relaxium sauna world is open to guests aged 16 and older. It includes a Stadlsauna (approx. 85–90°C), a Finnish sauna (approx. 85–95°C), a bio colour-light sauna (approx. 50–60°C), aroma infusion saunas (approx. 70–90°C), and a herbal sauna (approx. 85–90°C). Water and cooling features comprise a brine steam bath (approx. 40–45°C at about 95% humidity), a Rauris natural-stone grotto with a warm-water pool at around 33°C, a cold-water rock plunge pool, and Kneipp alternating foot baths. An infrared cabin (recommended 20-minute sessions) and a lounging area are also provided.

Iodine-brine water and health indications

Bad Hall's distinctive mineral water is an iodine brine (Jodsole), whose healing use the resort states has been known locally for centuries. According to the resort, iodine improves the flow properties of the blood, has an antioxidative effect, promotes circulation and vessel dilation, loosens mucus, strengthens the immune system, reduces inflammation, and has hydrating and calming effects. The iodine-brine therapies have been applied for musculoskeletal and movement disorders, eye conditions, respiratory issues, chronic pain, heart and circulation problems, and acute and chronic stress. Treatments include drinking cures, baths, inhalations, wraps, and eye therapies. The resort notes that treatment is not recommended for patients with thyroid overfunction (toxic adenomas) or iodine allergies, for whom alternatives are offered.

Health, therapy and accommodation

Medical and rehabilitation services are delivered at the Physikarium Bad Hall therapy centre, located within the Kurhotel Vitana, which also houses medical and ophthalmology departments. The resort offers therapy, wellness and beauty treatments, including the Vitaloase and Beauty Mediterrana (by appointment). Accommodation includes the four-star Hotel Miraverde with rooms and suites, as well as the Kurhotel Vitana.

Opening hours

The Therme Mediterrana is open daily from 09:00 to 24:00, and the Relaxium sauna world daily from 11:00 to 24:00, in both cases with last entry 30 minutes before closing. The Physikarium therapy reception is open Monday to Friday 07:00–16:00. Tickets are sold through the resort's online shop.
