Termas de Caldas das Taipas

Taipas Termal is a thermal spa in the village of Caldas das Taipas, about 10 km from Guimarães in northern Portugal. Its natural mineral water is meteoric in origin, infiltrating the valley of the River Ave and acquiring heat and sulphuration along its underground path.

Thermal water & source

The medicinal water emerges at around 32 °C and is classified as sodium-bicarbonate sulphurous, also described as low-mineralised, sulphurous, sodic, silicated and fluoridated. The spa lists it for conditions of the respiratory tract and the skin and for rheumatic and musculoskeletal ailments.
