About

Taipas Termal is a thermal spa in the village of Caldas das Taipas, about 10 km from Guimarães in northern Portugal. Its natural mineral water is meteoric in origin, infiltrating the valley of the River Ave and acquiring heat and sulphuration along its underground path.

The medicinal water emerges at around 32°C and is classified as sodium-bicarbonate sulphurous, also described as low-mineralised, sulphurous, sodic, silicated and fluoridated. It is indicated for conditions of the respiratory tract, the skin, and rheumatic and musculoskeletal ailments.
