Tamási Termálfürdő

Tamási Termálfürdő is a thermal and medicinal bath in the town of Tamási, in Tolna County, Hungary. It combines therapeutic thermal pools with a swimming and leisure area, and its water is officially recognised for medicinal use.

The water

The bath is fed by a mineral spring that rises at about 52°C, which is cooled before being fed into the therapeutic pools. According to the site, the water is a sodium-chloride, hydrogen-carbonate, bromide and iodide water with a high fluoride content. This composition supports its use for medical bathing, and the bath describes treating visitors arriving with musculoskeletal and movement complaints as its original purpose.

Pools and saunas

The outdoor bathing area includes two thermal medicinal pools, a 25-metre swimming and leisure pool, and a children's paddling pool. Water-jet massage features are among the pool amenities described. The sauna offering comprises Finnish and infrared cabins at varying temperatures and humidity, a steam cabin and an ice well for gradual cooling, with guided sauna sessions led by trained sauna masters using essential-oil, salt and honey infusions. Standard admission includes use of the outdoor Finnish sauna and the sun loungers. The site notes that its indoor facility is closed for renovation during summer 2026, so the outdoor pools and sauna are what operate in that season.

Treatments

Alongside bathing, the bath offers massage and classical Hungarian medicinal treatments such as mud packing (iszappakolás) and weight-bath therapy (súlyfürdő), which can be accessed with a doctor's referral. A restaurant operates on site.

Visiting

For the summer season (21 May to 31 August 2026), the bath is open Monday to Thursday and Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00, and Friday and Saturday from 10:00 to 21:00; the sauna runs from 12:00. All-day admission is 4,250 HUF for adults, 3,750 HUF for pensioners and 2,000 HUF for children aged 3 to 14, with reduced rates for local residents, discounted after-3pm tickets, six-visit passes and family packages. Towels, lockers and valuables storage are available to rent.
