Dunaföldvári strand és gyógyfürdő

The Dunaföldvári Gyógy- és Strandfürdő stands at Hősök tere 26, about 400 metres from the town centre at the foot of the Beszédes József bridge and directly on the bank of the Danube. It is run by Dunaföldvári Dunaparti Idegenforgalmi Kft., the same company that operates the Kék Duna campsite a few hundred metres upstream, which stays open all year. The site is reached by car from Hősök tere or on foot and by bicycle along the riverside promenade; a tennis court, an open-air gym and a playground lie along the same promenade.

The operator describes the water as a medicinal water of high salt content and markedly hydrogen-carbonate character, suited to the treatment of musculoskeletal and gynaecological complaints and of skin conditions. The published analysis gives sodium 970 mg/l, chloride 1016 mg/l and hydrogen carbonate 1171 mg/l, with potassium 23.0, calcium 23.5, magnesium 22.0, iron 3.2, bromide 2.1, iodide 0.32 and fluoride 1.09 mg/l, and a stated total of anions and cations of 3241 mg/l. Recommended indications listed are musculoskeletal and rheumatic complaints, accident injuries, blood-pressure reduction under medical supervision, nervous exhaustion, milder skin conditions with associated joint inflammation, osteoporosis and gynaecological complaints; a matching list of contraindications is printed beside it. The operator publishes neither a source temperature nor a well depth for the medicinal water.

The covered medicinal pool and the treatment department are stated to receive patients all year. Under a contract with the national health insurer, and on referral from a rheumatologist, the bath supplies medicinal pool bathing, medical massage, underwater jet massage (tangentor), mud packs and underwater group therapeutic exercise; the same treatments can also be booked privately. The summer lido is separate: three outdoor recirculated pools operate from 1 June to 31 August, a swimming pool 1.20–1.80 m deep holding 600 m³ at 25–27 °C, a teaching pool 0.80 m deep holding 40 m³ at 29–30 °C, and a paddling pool 0.15–0.30 m deep holding 10 m³ at 29–30 °C. Swimming lessons run through the season and a free weekly group aqua-fitness session is offered; there is a beach volleyball court, a table-tennis table, chess and a playground, with buffets in the main building and on the lido.

Published hours are 6:00–20:00 daily for the outdoor lido pools, with the pools to be left by 19:30, and 8:00–19:00 daily for the covered medicinal pool, to be left by 18:30; the cash desk in the summer season works 8:00–18:30. The operator also prints an expected 2026 calendar of holiday openings and closures, which includes days in October and December.
