Rózsa Fürdő

The Rozsa Gyogyfurdo stands in the centre of Totkomlos in southern Bekes county, at postcode 5940 on Kossuth utca, and describes itself as a family-scale bath working winter and summer together with a sports pool and a medical department. The operator's history page records that by 1942 the bath building, two pools and a 10 by 10 metre children's pool already stood, and quotes the finding of the National Institute of Public Health that the water was acceptable as bathing water and had medicinal-water character on account of its higher alkali-hydrocarbonate content. The bath takes its name from the rose gardens on its grounds. Rheumatology and physiotherapy consulting were established at the end of the 1960s, the medicinal pool was built in a larger development at the end of the 1970s, bringing the bath to three pools, and in 1986-87 the physiotherapy wing was rebuilt with a modern electrotherapy unit and a new balneotherapy section. A complete reconstruction was carried out in 2002-2003 under the Szechenyi Plan, after which the bath works continuously through the year and also has a summer strand.

The balneotherapy page states that the medicinal pool holds sodium-magnesium-calcium-hydrogen-carbonate mineral water at 35 to 37 C; the pool list gives the outdoor medicinal pool with its seated ledge as 36 C and seasonal. Four pools are listed: a 33-metre, seven-lane raised-water-level swimming pool that runs seasonally; a 25-metre, three-lane raised-water-level swimming pool that runs winter and summer; the outdoor medicinal pool; and a children's pool, also seasonal. Pool bathing as a prescribed treatment is taken in the aroma cave in the pool hall in winter and, in summer, additionally in the outdoor medicinal pool, for 15 to 40 minutes depending on the patient's condition and the water temperature, with 80 per cent social-insurance support.

Wellness comprises a Finnish sauna, a steam cabin, an infrared cabin with an ioniser and light therapy added in 2018, sauna sessions led by a sauna master with aroma infusions, refreshing and full-body massage, a solarium, callanetics and the medicinal-water aroma cave, where the medicinal water works together with essential oils. The Finnish sauna runs Tuesday and Thursday 13:00 to 18:30 and Saturday and Sunday 11:00 to 18:30; the steam cabin Tuesday and Thursday 13:00 to 20:00 and Saturday and Sunday 11:00 to 20:00. Other facilities are a children's playground, the Rozsa buffet, table tennis, beach volleyball and badminton courts, free cloakroom, sun loungers and a gift shop. The department offers electrotherapy (stable galvanic, iontophoresis, diadynamic, selective stimulus current, TENS, interference, ultrasound and cryotherapy) and balneotherapy (pool bathing, medicinal mud packing, weight bath, medical massage, tangentor, underwater group physiotherapy, therapeutic swimming and physiotherapy) for locomotor and rheumatic conditions. The bath opens 9:30 to 20:00 Monday to Friday and 9:00 to 20:00 at weekends, with pools, saunas and the steam cabin to be left 30 minutes before closing; the medical department opens 8:00 to 14:00 on weekdays and is closed at weekends.
