About
Wiehler Wasser Welt is the family bath of Wiehl in the Oberbergischer Kreis, run by Freizeit- und Sportstätten Wiehl at Mühlenstraße 23. Five pools are described on its pools page. The children's pool is held at 32 °C and contains a water snake, two tigers, a hut with a slide, caves, a tipping bucket and a rock with a hand pump and an operating wheel. The course pool has a movable floor and is held at 30 °C, with the depth adjustable from 0 to 1.80 m for different courses. The sports pool covers 318 m², is 2.00 m deep and is held at 28 °C, with five 25-metre lanes and starting blocks; its folding walls to the outdoor grounds turn the hall into an open-air bath in the summer season. The brine pool covers 155 m², is 1.20 m deep and is the warmest at 34 °C, equipped with two neck showers, eight whirl loungers, one floor bubbler and three back-massage stations. The outdoor diving pool is 3.80 m deep at 24 °C, with 1 m, 3 m and 5 m platforms and 1 m and 3 m springboards.
The water is heated fresh water except in the brine pool (Solebecken), which is the bath's one saline basin. The operator publishes no thermal spring, no well, no source temperature and no brine concentration or mineral analysis, and nothing on the site supports calling this a thermal bath; the brine is a treated pool, not a named spring. In January 2025 the operator announced that the brine pool had to close temporarily during a revision and later documented its repair and reopening, so this basin has a history of outages worth checking before a visit.
The pools page states that the combined area of all pools is 718 m², which it compares to about 3.5 tennis courts. No total number of pools and no opening year appear in the page text: the homepage shows a row of animated figure counters under the headings Eröffnung, Gesamtwasserfläche, Becken and Unterwasserleuchten, but their values are written into the markup and drawn by a script rather than published as text, so they are not reproduced here.
The single slide is the Speed-Rutsche, 68 metres long, whose landing area is underground; riders pass four stroboscope lights, a running-light section and a light-roller section. The outdoor area, opened in full for the summer season, has a large lawn, a beach bar, three wade-through basins, a sand play area with play equipment and a relax beach section with loungers. No sauna is described anywhere on the operator's site.
Opening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 13:00–20:00, with early swimming on Tuesday and Thursday 06:30–08:00, Friday 12:00–21:30, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 10:00–19:00; no Monday hours are listed. The bath is closed on Christmas Eve, both Christmas days, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, and separate summer-holiday hours are published. Indoor admission for adults is 5.50 euro for early swimming, 6.00 euro for a 90-minute sports tariff, 7.00 euro for 2.5 hours, 8.00 euro for four hours and 11.00 euro for a day; children and young people up to and including 17 pay 3.00, 3.50, 4.00, 4.50 and 6.50 euro respectively. A group tariff for four people with at most two adults costs 20.00 euro for 2.5 hours, 22.00 euro for four hours and 29.00 euro for a day. From 1 June at the earliest a sun tariff applies, at 8.00 euro for an adult day ticket and 4.50 euro for a child. Children under four enter free.
