Wasserparadies

The Wasserparadies Hildesheim is the leisure, sports and sauna bath of the Lower Saxon city of Hildesheim, operated within the municipal utility group and made up of four parts sold on separate tariffs: an Erlebnisbad, a Sportbad, the Saunawelt N 52 and a Wellnessoase. The operator publishes technical figures for the house as a whole: about 6,600 square metres of roofed area, about 1,700 square metres of water surface including the outdoor pool, a circulation rate of some 2,300 cubic metres of water an hour and about 140,000 cubic metres of air. It holds certification of its energy management system to DIN EN ISO 50001 and is a certified KinderFerienLand Niedersachsen operation.

The adventure side is built around the Riesenrutsche XStream, given as over 100 metres long with an Infinity Jump section and reserved for children of seven and over unless accompanied, a second steep-wall slide, a torrent and current channel, a grotto with two waterfalls hiding a small slide and moulded loungers under water, a large whirlpool, a spray park in two sections, an interactive water wheel that children turn to drive two paddle wheels, a decorated paddling pool with fish jets, revolving water wheels and a water wall fountain, and a baby pool with a mini slide and a frog spout. The outdoor pool has water jets and bubbling lounger surfaces in a lawned area with deck chairs. Average water temperatures are published pool by pool: the paddling pool at 32 to 33 °C, the baby pool at 33 to 34 °C, the spray park and water wheel and the massage and course pool and the outdoor pool at 31 to 32 °C, the adventure pool at 30 to 31 °C, the whirlpools at 34 to 35 °C and the sports pool at 27 to 28 °C. None of this water is thermal or mineral.

The Sportbad is a separate area with a 25 by 21 metre eight-lane pool, diving boards at three and one metres and an underwater window for training observation, and it hosts swimming badges up to gold and the swimming disciplines of the German sports badge. It has its own timetable and club bookings, and its cheapest ticket is a 90-minute card at 4.50 euro for adults, against 19.00 euro for an adult day ticket in the Erlebnisbad.

The Saunawelt N 52 opened on 23 May 2026 and is themed on a day at the North Sea. The operator counts five saunas: the Meerblick event sauna at 90 °C with 10 to 25 per cent humidity, panoramic screens showing the sea and room for 80 people; the Nordbrise bio sauna at 60 °C with 40 to 55 per cent humidity for 25 people; the Kräuterglut herb sauna at 90 °C for 25 people; the Tiefenwärme infrared cabin at 45 °C for six, with a salt-stone wall; and the Dünenruhe candle-lit sauna at 75 °C for six inside the bookable Private Spa, which is used as a women's sauna on Thursdays. Alongside them the Nebelbucht steam bath runs at 40 °C and 100 per cent humidity for six people and is enriched at selected times with a fine brine mist. Cooling, rest zones, a Strandlounge N 52 with a water station and a food landscape complete the area. The Erlebnisbad and the Saunawelt both open from 09:00 to 22:00 every day, with sauna and bathing ending 30 minutes before closing, and the sauna area closes at 17:30 on days with sauna events; the Wellnessoase works from 09:00 to 16:00 by appointment.
