Südbad

Südbad is a municipal pool in Neuss, in North Rhine-Westphalia, run by the town's utility. It is a combined indoor and outdoor bath rather than a thermal one: the pool water is ordinary treated mains water, and the site makes no claim of a thermal or mineral spring.

Indoor pools

The leisure pool holds 204 m² at 32 °C, 1.05 to 1.35 m deep, under a roof that slides open. The swimmer pool is 25 by 12.5 m — 312.5 m² at 27 °C, up to 2.20 m deep — and the diving pool beside it 147 m², also at 27 °C but 3.80 m deep. A teaching pool of 8 by 12.5 m holds 100 m² at 32 °C, from 0.60 to 1.40 m, and a splash pool of 40 m² is the warmest at 33 °C, 30 to 40 cm deep.

Outdoor pools

The 50-metre swimmer basin measures 50 by 21 m, holds 1,050 m² and runs cool at 24 °C, 1.40 to 1.80 m deep. An outdoor leisure pool of 102 m² is much warmer at 32 °C and 1.25 m deep, and a 70 m² splash area for small children has shallow basins and water features.

Slide and sauna

A 65-metre slide runs at 31 °C. The sauna is a textile one at 70 to 80 °C.

Visiting

The indoor bath opens 08:00 to 21:00 from Monday to Thursday, from 06:30 on Wednesdays, and 08:00 to 20:00 from Friday to Sunday; the outdoor pools run 08:00 to 20:00 daily. In 2026 two hours cost 7.20 EUR for an adult and 4.70 EUR for a child, four hours 8.80 and 5.40 EUR, and a day ticket 9.90 and 5.90 EUR. Children under five enter free, as do birthday visitors and companions of holders of a disability pass marked B. The bath is at Jakob-Koch-Straße 1.
