Spreewelten Bad

Spreewelten Bad lies in Lübbenau in the Spreewald, Brandenburg, and is built around the feature the operator puts first: swimming with penguins. The outdoor pool adjoins the penguin enclosure with only a pane of glass between the two, so guests swim and dive alongside the birds; a dry indoor playground looks directly into the penguins' underwater world, and the operator runs penguin feedings, a VIP guided tour among the penguins and informational penguin boards outdoors.

The bathing world (Badewelt) is described basin by basin with temperatures. The outdoor pool runs at about 28 degrees. The wave pool, offering several wave strengths, is at 30 degrees. Spreewald 360° is the thermal basin, which the operator states carries 1.5 % brine content ("Das Thermalbecken mit 1,5% Sole-Gehalt"), at 34 degrees. The toddler pool, with a view of the penguins, is also at 34 degrees, and the Weltentor, a ring washed by a strong current, is at 30 degrees. So the water here is mixed: most basins are plain heated pool water, while the Spreewald 360° basin is thermal brine water; the sauna world adds a further brine basin the operator calls beneficial thermal water. The operator lists these pools as an enumeration and states no total number of basins. The slide is an interactive one with three preconfigured programmes, light shows, sound effects and adjustable speed, plus Runninglight, Twistereffect, Touchpoints and a Speedrun mode with times, record times and a leaderboard shown in the hall; no slide length is published. The outdoor grounds add a water playground, table tennis, a Tartan sports court, a bistro and large lawns facing the penguin enclosure.

The sauna world is large and also published cabin by cabin with temperatures. Indoors: Spreewaldsauna at 95 °C in the classic Finnish manner, Biosauna at 40–50 °C with 55 % humidity, a steam and aroma sauna at 45 °C, the Spreewälder Waschküche at 45 °C, a salt gallery (Salzstollen) at 70 °C, an infrared chamber at about 55 °C and an aerosol room at 50 °C. The outdoor sauna village (Saunadorf) holds the Gurkensauna at 60 °C with a real swing, Gute Stube at 80 °C, Heusauna at 90 °C, Sau(na)stall at 70 °C, Lutki-Höhle at 85 °C with Spreewald myths read aloud, Alter Speicher at 80 °C and Backstube at 80 °C for the sauna masters' show infusions; a Mühlensauna at 85 °C is announced as coming soon. Cooling is by plunge pool, ice gallery, shower house and experience showers, and the rest areas include a brine basin, a whirlpool and the Spreewaldscheune, admission to which is from 12 years. A published Aufguss plan runs from 10:30 to 21:00, with extra late infusions on Fridays and Saturdays.

Hours: Sunday to Thursday 10:00–22:00, Friday and Saturday 10:00–23:00; closed 24 and 25 December, and 10:00–21:00 on New Year's Eve. Admission to the bathing world: adults €21 for two hours, €26 for four hours, €31 for the day; reduced (children 4–15, pupils and students) €17, €21 and €24; under-3s free. The sauna world costs €10 per person on top of the chosen bathing tariff and can only be booked in combination with it, with access from 7 years of age. Monday to Friday outside Berlin, Brandenburg and Saxony school holidays there is a €2 reduction on the tariff; an evening tariff gives bathing and sauna for €20 Monday to Thursday from 19:00 and €23 on Fridays from 19:00.
